Question about 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe
You just narrowed the solution down, There is the cam sensor, the location is near the thermostat housing on the right bank cylinder head, try shaking the sensor connector inspect electrical connector for looseness and poor male to female terminal fit.The ECM used this to fire the injector at a timed event. Then there is the injector itself. The IGN (+) is supplied to the injector by the main relay (also check the main relay) the injector ground is switched by the ECM. check the harness also its under the intake plenum. .If anything its either your main relay

You might need to take it to a shop because in the process of getting to the bar, you could damage some other things that would be costly to repair just to be on the safe side.

I just had this happen to me yesterday with my 2002 Santa Fe. After trying everything (jiggling steeling wheel, shaking the car, you name it we tried it). We got a chain and pulled the car ahead about 2 feet. That didn't seem to do anything but we then pulled up the emergency brake into the lock position and tried to start the car (with the ER brake on) and it worked!!! The steering wheel came unlocked and the car started up. Don't know if it was the pulling of the car that broke something free or if it was the ER brake, but that was what worked for me.

dear friend:this might sound stupid, but remove the key from the barrel and try again, then see if the dash lights dim when trying to start,if it does the battery is to flat to turn the engine,if it is a auto shift the lever slightly forward and backward to make sure it is not the neutral switch.
