you did not indicated when the squeek occurs. If you turn the steering wheel and there is a dry squeek look at the tie rod ends. If you bounce the truck and the squeek is heard look at the stabilizer bar bushings {most common cause } If this is the cause, lubing them is a temporary fix they should be replaced.

Some models of the explorer are all-wheel-drive not 4-wheel drive.If you do not have a switch in plain sight that says 2hi 4lo 4hi on it,then chances are your suv is all wheel drive.These models of explorer are always engaged in 4-wheel drive and do not have a 2 wheel drive option.(simular to a subaru or a mitsubishi lancer evo)Hope this helps.Have a good day.
