Question about 2000 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent and when I press down on the gas the engine bogs down. I was getting an 1123 code and I replaced the upstream and downstream O2 sensors. This helped with it dieing at idle but did not fix it bogging when pressing the gas. The fuel filter did have a little resistance so I replaced it but still no help. I have not ruled out the pressure regulator, fuel pump, or fuel injectors. I am also getting some moderate blue smoke at startup. What should be my next course of action? My 2000 Accent runs poorly above 65mph, also loses power going uphill, the codes are P1128, P0301 thru 4. I'm starting my repair process by changing the fuel filter. I will let you know.

My 2000 Hyundai Elantra starts, idles for a few seconds but then dies right away.

Before this it was idling rough. I sprayed some carborator cleaner into the air intake thinking this might clean it a little - the car stopped running. Could I have shorted out the Mass Air Flow Sensor?

I cannot find the Fuel Pump Relay to check it - it's not on the menu on the relay box under the hood, it is not in the fuse box in the passenger compartment. Where could it be?

Can or how do you test an oxygen sensor 2000 Hyundai Accent to find out if it is working properly? I keep getting error code P123. I have changed the oxygen sensor, but still keep getting the same err

There are two oxygen sensors. Change the other one. Make sure you are installing the correct sensor in the correct location. One is before the cat the other is after the cat. (upstream and downstream)

I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent, the check engine light came on after getting gas. The car is running fine.

More then likely it's going to be an evap code, check your gas cap make sure it's on right, also go by any auto parts or autozone where they can pull codes for free, and get back with us here at FixYa so we can help you diag. your trouble code.

Check engine light

The trouble code P1128 is for a faulty mass air flow sensor or MAP. This is a common problem with 1999-2000 Accents. There is air leakage within the unit and/or the hot wire in the unit is badly contaminated. A bad MAP will cause the vehicle to bog and loose power.
