What kind of parts do you need to replace brakes on a 2000 pontiac grand am

you will need pads, maybe rotors if they can not be cut, also make sure you grease the sliders they will hang up on you. make sure the caliper's are not leaking and check the brake lines.

I have a 2000 grand am gt 3.4l and when i go to stop, as i slow down, the car seems to **** forward and backward slightly as i hit the brakes. would this be my rotors possibly?

Sounds like warped drums or rotors
( shaking when hitting the brakes )
Need to check complete braking system, just in case you have a hanging caliper or wheel cylinder ( if it has drums, that is in back )

How do i get the rotor off the wheel for a 2001 grand am

Once you get the brake caliper off, you can remove the brake rotor. If the brake rotor still on the wheel hub give a good hit with a 5 pound hammer to break it free from the wheel hub which is most likely rusted on. When you place the new rotor on, put some anti seize on the hub where the rotor set's in too, so you can remove it easier the next time you have too. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted be glad to help.
