SOURCE: oil pressure switch location on 1999 chev cavalier

The oil pressure switch relays the oil pressure in the engine to the instrument cluster. The switch will illuminate the OIL PRESSURE light if the oil pressure drops below 2psi (13 pa). The switch is usually located on the side of the engine, under the intake manifold on the 2.2L engine and on the side of the intake camshaft housing on the 2.3L/2.4L engine.

Other, the low oil level switch activates the OIL light in the instrument cluster when the oil level in the pan goes below a certain level. The switch is mounted on the oil pan.

Hope this helped (remember rated this post).

Where is the oil sending unit located on a 1999 nissan altima?

Not exactly sure about 1999 model but It's usually located next to the oil filter with a wire coming out of it or with in the oil drain area. It's about $12 to replace.
For vehicles with an indicator light, the sending unit is like a simple switch. When the engine is off, or the pressure is too low, the switch closes, and illuminates the lamp. Under pressure, the switch is open and the lamp goes out. The only difference in the above test, is with the wire disconnected, the light is out, and with the wire grounded, the light is on. A better question: how long will synthetic engine oil protect the engine? I don't put a lot of mile on the Saab 9-3, 1999.

You need to change the oil every year or 10.000 miles. The oil will be polluted with foreign material like water, sulpur etc.

Where is the oil pressure sending unit located on a 1999 chrrsler cirrus

There are three engines that come with this car, there are two engines 2.0 and2.4 with the oil pressure switch located on the right front of the engine block, and then if it has the 2.5 engine then the oil pressure switch is located on the leftside of the engine block above the oil filter, good luck,.

The low oil pressure warning lamp will illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position without the engine running. The lamp also illuminates if the engine oil pressure drops below a safe oil pressure level. To test the system, perform the following:

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. If the lamp does not light, check for a broken or disconnected wire around the engine and oil pressure sending unit switch.
  3. If the wire at the connector checks out OK, pull the connector loose from the switch and, with a jumper wire, ground the connector to the engine.
  4. With the ignition switch turned to the ON position, check the warning lamp. If the lamp still fails to light, check for a burned out lamp or disconnected socket in the instrument cluster.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
On the 2.4L engine, the oil pressure switch is located on the side of the engine block facing the firewall. On the 3.0L engine, the oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter adapter housing, next to the starter motor. On the 3.3L and 3.8L engines, the oil pressure switch is located next to the oil filter.
  1. Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the pressure switch electrical harness.
  4. Using a pressure switch socket, deep-well socket or wrench, loosen and remove the pressure switch from the engine.
To install:
  1. Install the pressure switch into the engine and tighten securely.
  2. Attach the electrical connector to the switch.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Start the engine, allow it to reach operating temperature and check for leaks.
  5. Check for proper oil pressure switch operation.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answerr).

Depending on the overall condition of the engine, it could have worn or frozen rings, worn valve guides or the turbo you installed is worn out. These are driven by exhaust pressure and if their bearings are worn, you may be getting a mix of compressed air from the turbo and oil that is seeping past the compressor's internal seals.

Oil pressure warning light flashe's on then goe's of

If oil & filter done/checked on a regular basis, and no new sounds or noises from engine, I would certainly lean toward new oil pressure switch. Probably does it more often when stopping maybe? If your very nervous about it, have a mechanic hook up his own good oil pressure gauge to engine in order to verify pressure is where it should be.
