Question about 2004 Infiniti QX4
My 2001 infiniti QX4 has 86,000 miles and the computer readout shows the cats are the problem . how many cats are in system and can i change them myself?
There are only to Catalysts monitored by the ECM. There is a wide pipe near the front of the exhaust system that looks like it houses a catalyst, but it doesn't. Look for the rear O2 sensor, that is where the catalyst is. If the bolts that hold it on are not badly rusted, and depending on your mechanical aptitude you could replace them, otherwise take it to a shop. Have you checked the warranty coverage with the dealership?
