Question about 2006 Toyota Sequoia

1 Answer

The dash board panel lights are out for the most part. The speedo is 1/2 iluminated. Could this be a fuse ? If not, how involved is it to change the lights?

I think it could be bulb issue.

you have to remove the dash board and replace bulbs that are busted. replacing the bulb is no problem . the problem is taking the dash off. need to remove the dash cover first before you can remove the actual dash.

another thing to consider is the speedometer cable which is attached at the center of the gauge.

Dash lights

How long has it been this way? I actually think it may be your dimmer switch turned all the way down. They are under the steering column usually. Make sure that is turned up.

The dash lights went out on my 2000 Buick Lesabre Custom. It doesn't have the heads up display or remote locks, though they are power. All the other lights work fine, the computer displays work, and when...

Sounds like you have some confusion going on here.
The dash lights and tail lights have always been on different circuits and fuses. So if one set of lights fail, the other stays on unless the headlight switch blows up.
The fuse marked "instruments" is for the speedo and gas gauge, not the lights.
On your car there is an instrument panel module and a dash integraded module which both involve the dash lights.
You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and test procedures for this circuit.
Another thing - after 1998 most cars and trucks switched from having the headlight switch provide power to having them provide the ground connection.

Need to change out dash light bulb on a 1993

you will have to remove the dash panel around the cluster to get the cluster out. should be held in place with a couple of philips screws and some 7mm or 1/4in bolts remove these and the panel should pop loose will have to disconnect the switchs mounted in the panel. the speedo cluster is next and is bolted in place. you will probably have to work around the steering wheel and column. make sure to unplug speedo and if shift indicator on dash careful not to break it.

Where is the fuse for the instrument lights on the dash around the speed ometer and dash lights

Check the #4 and #21 in the Fuse Block; also review this document about ZJ-Secc-8W-Wiring-Diagrams (Page 8W-37 Wiring Diagrams Index).

Maybe you can see the Fuse Applications Char, Fuses Cluster 1 & 2, or Instrument Panel Ilumination items.

Good luck!!!
