There is a red cap located next to the master cylinder that you add the fluid into. Make sure you have a transmission fluid funnel, or you'll make a mess everywhere. If you lift the car up on a hoist, there will be a kind of sight glass on the bottom of the transmission, near the passenger side tire. To make sure you have the proper level, you need to pull the bolt out. If fluid comes out, you're okay. If there is nothing trickling out, she needs some more.

Transmission Fluid Capacity?

I will assume you have already drained the trany. You could have measure the fuid out and replaced all but a quart. Estimate what you took out minus a quart and run the trany through all the gears. let is set and measure what you need. Even simpler, get the manual for the unit and look up maintenace.

My is shifting from 2 to drive back to 2 why is it doning that

Check your tranny fluid levels- if they are low your transmition will slip between gears, however if you notice any kind of free reving while its shifting (like being reved up when in park or neutral) then the hydrostatic clutches are slipping and the transmition needs repair.

Another thing you should investigate is your transmition kick down bar (it shifts the trany into a lower gear when accelerating hard to help pick up speed.

2008 ford ranger 5 speed manuel transmission, ford has no replacement blocker ring for the trany. Further it has no part number in ford manual

Ford does not have a code number for the broken part, we are checking transmisson number to see when first manufactured. Further Mazda B-series trucks on 3000 use the same motor and transmission, will be checking there info. It seems at this moment this part has not been produced, a part was sent up from Ford , but with think it is automatic trany blocker ring, not manual. Apparently Ford has never replaced this part on a manual trany.. We have a picture of the inside of the tranmission and all the parts, but 4 have manufacture numbers are missing. This is very difficult. The truck is on warranty, so it is a Ford problem.

try changes the filter for the trany and put new trany oil in there! Look at the fluid when it comes out ans see if you see metal or if the old fluid looks like it has metal shavings in it!! You might have burnt the bands up in the trany

Chevrolet automatic transmission turbo 350

Was this a preexisting problem if not verify that the trani fluid type was correct. It should have been dexron or Dexron 2 fluid(not mercon products) check the fluid level over filling can be just as bad as underfilling)
