You must have a check-engine light right? What codes were pulled from the computer? If you can get a list of them and post them here, I can define them for you and help you trace the problem.

This depends on the problem , like a bad gas cap is not covered but so what a cap is cheap, take it to dealer and let them fix it for free or very cheap. most of the time its a valve, purge valve or vent valve, these are covered, take it before you hit 80,000. good luck.

Its more than likely a O2 sensor you may want to have a diognostics test run on it to find out whitch one it is.

Pass smog test

change your oil and oil filter. Add a bottle of octane boost to the fuel tank then top off with fuel. Drive vehicle for about twenty minutes then have emissions tested. Unless you have a bad catalytic converter, you should pass emissions.

2004 Sebring failed the emissions testing

Probably not a cheap fix.
The car will not pass the test if the light is on during the test.
The light is on when the computer has a problem that will affect emissions or performance.
You would need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes then fix the problem. Once the problem is fixed and the code is erased, the light should stay off.

Didn't pass smog due to fuel leak? It passed the emission part of the smog test, however failed because of gas vapors leaking from the fuel system. What should I check first to locate the leak?

Fuel tankes have only one large acess on the top i sugest checkin the rubber gasket for cracks or perishing also check along the fuel lines for damp spots use your nose to locat the strongest area of gas then go from there hope this helps:)

What does it mean when the emissions light comes on in your instrument panel? the emissions light came on tonight while driving home I checked my gas cap to make sure it was closed tight and made sure that...

It could be emission related- the gas cap may be on tight but how about when you filled up before? And the cap can actually be bad - meaning it allows to much fuel vapour to escape. Your cap actually has to pass a pressure test during a drive-clean inspection. If your not due for a e-test then you may remove the gas cap and bring it to a drive-clean facility for a pressure test, usually it`s a no cost.If your cap passes then the problem can be related to your emission system on your car which consists of valves, solenoids and plastic vapour lines. Your auto repair shop can diagnose this for you. Either way you are not in any danger if you continue to drive your car.

Wont pass emissions air,fuel mixture

This is a problem with your Cat converter Replacing car will then pass the emissions test, Air and fuel mixture if it was wrong your car wouldn't respond correctly and you would know something is wrong before you did any emissions tests, Also garage would have tweaked it for free for you as only takes a couple of mins

How well does the vehicle run?

Assuming that the engine did pass the EGR function test on the emission test results, and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) or check engine light is not on when the engine is running, and if you are not sure when the last time it was that the engine had a complete tune-up, with distributor cap, ignition rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, air and fuel filters, then a complete tune-up would certainly help, and if the engine oil and oil filter have not been changed in a while, then they should also be changed before an emission test because long used engine oil traps carbon and it will show up as higher CO on the emission test because the emission analyzer will be able detect the higher CO from the engine oil through the PCV valve.

However, it would seem from those HC readings that there is a vacuum leak, and carefully inspect all of the vacuum lines for any cracks or damage, (especially the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator) because cracks in the vacuum lines seem to like to hide underneath the lines.

The emission label under the hood should have the vacuum line routing diagram printed on it, and the vacuum lines should all be checked to be certain that they are all connected correctly.

Here is the firing order diagram for that vehicle to help assist you tune-up the vehicle.

Did not pass state inspection (vehicle)

First the fault codes,
U110C is No Fuel Level Bus Message
U0155 is No Cluster Bus Message.
Unfortunatly you have to be able to communicate with the instrument cluster with your scanner to diagnoise and I do not think an aftermarket scanner can do this.

I have a code on my chrysler that reads P1494 LPD what does it mean?

P1494 is the code for the leak detection pump and or system, which is part of the early evaporative emission system. It’s there to allow the computer to run an integrity test of the fuel tank, lines and carbon canister’s ability to contain all of the fumes coming from the tank and all line associated with the system.
The code could be set for a number of reasons such as a faulty gas cap, cracked vacuum lines, solenoids & vent valves stuck to the pump itself.
In some cases, it can also be set if you refueled the car with the engine running, as when the fuel cap is removed with the engine running, the computer can read that as an evaporative emission leak.
