I know that this seems very odd. but I even looked it up on the web and they say the same as I did. for the 99 acura TL. but some of the cars you cant! I have changed a lot of transmission filters, and im pretty sure that they sell a filter at auto-zone etc, for your car. Im very sorry for this. I got wrong info, I thought this was very odd also ! just call or stop at a auto parts store for more info on transmission filter. good-day !

The transmission filter is not servicable. The fluid is very easy to change

drain out of bottom and find the 17mm plug on the top of the transmission near the air box or battery tray. Remove the plug(very tight usually) and refill with proper amount of fluid. You absolutly need honda trans fluid ONLY. ATFZ1 or whatever is the newest fluid.

Hi, First you have to remove 8 to 12 bolts from the bottom of the ******.
Have a large oil container for the oil that will run all over. then when you have the lid off the filter just pops off. Before you replace the lid again put some sillicon sealor on the gasket. replace the bolts and refill the oil in the dipstick tube. Good luck.

2005 lexus rx330 how to change transmission filter

normally on automatic transmissions, the filter is changed by draining the transmission fluid & removing the transmissions oil pan on bottom of transmission. from there the filter is accessible.

some transmissions the filter are a metal screen to keep filings from entering the system, others are filtered through material.
trans filters for yours are available.
some pans have magnets attached to catch filings.
you may want to purchase a repair manual on your vehicle,( I have one for every vehicle that I have ever owned, they are very helpful) this will tell you the exact procedure for yours.

While i was doing off road driving a warnning light (a/t oil temp) turn on, i looked underneath the car and i found oil leak drop after drop, not too sure now should I change the transmition oil and filter...

Change the transmission fluid and filter. The light says fluid temp. is high, so you may have some burnt fluid-deadly for transmissions. Drop the trans. pan and look for metal shavings-too much will indicate failure of transmission parts. If not too much, you may be alright with fluid and filter change.
Stop the leak,. make sure it is trans. fluid, not motor oil. If motor oil, stop the leak and change oil and filter. I would do the transmission regardless, since the light came on.

I WANT TO CHANGE MY TRANSMISSION FILTER ON MY 2003 CHEVY MALIBU. hOW MUCH FLUID WILL i NEED ?

  • When you change a transmission filter the general rule is you loos roughly 1/4 - 1/3 of your total transmission fluid capacity.
  • I would buy 3 quarts and dump two in the transmission after the filter/gasket change. Put your foot on the brake and go through the gears to fill the pockets in the transmission up. Then put then check the fluid and add some more as necessary. Should be around 2 1/2 quarts total you will loose in the filter change.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

How to change transmission filter and fluid?

It will be hard to replace the filter, you will have to take off transmission pan to change the filter. another way you can take to shop and they will flush and clean the transmission with compress machine without filter change. price might be between 100 to 150 dollars

Transmission is jerking violently then will not

That sounds like solenoid problems if this is an electrically controlled transmission. Fluid and filter change will likely NOT fix this. Flushing and filter change is preventive, not repair. Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner and read the code(s). It should point out problems with transmission control. You likely need the services of a good transmission repair facility (many penny!).
