you use a test light and turn the key to the on position and you grond the test light then touch each side of the fuse and the test light should light , if 1 side of the fuse lights and the other side doe not then you have a bad fuse

im sorry , i miss read that what you do is you take the negative terminal off the battery and then you connect the test ligh to the neg. terminal and then you stick the ligh end into the neg. battery post the light will lght up if you have a draw, then 1 by 1 you pull out the fuses and watch the test light when you pull afuse that makes the light go out that is what is drawing the power

SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Thermostat

as you face the engine the thermostat bell is on the right (drivers side) Follow the radiatoe hose. Remove the two bolts and raise the bell still attatched to the hose. the thermostat is there with the rubber seal. You can gently pry the thermostat out with a screwdriver or something similar. Put in new thermostat be sure it is the same as the old one, and then replace or change the seal (be sure it is the smae size and thickness as the old one as I got the wrong size from Napa) Then replace the bell, and tighten, but not over tighten. I hope this helps!

My 2000 pontiac grand prix is smoking. I added coolant and oil. It overheats right away. What's the problem? Oh just started doing it today.

they are known for bad head gaskets and intake gaskets, have it diagnosed at the shop and don't drive it or you can do serious damage to the engine.

Where to disconnect power to ECBM only

Unfortunately the fuse also powers the compressor clutch. If you don't have A/C, pull that fuse. Otherwise, you may need to disconnect the module. The connector is on the side of the master cylinder--#3 in the picture below.

Pontiac grand am 2004 3.4 6cylinder installed brand new battery altenator & starter all good car started took it for test drive everything shut off car wont start. lights radio still come on

Sounds like the security system activated or the ignition is bad. If you have an alarm installed remove it. If you don't then replace the ignition switch after checking all fuses in the fuse panel. There is one that can blow and will give you this symptom.

I have a 2004 pontiac grand prix gtp. just replaced the battery and alternater. battery is dead again. its as though something is left on maybe a short somewhere? Where do I start to maybe find the...

If you have heated seats then there is a likelihood that they are not turning off and can be difficult to tell or not when you get in the car and the sun has already been on the seat.
When they do not shut off when the motor is not running they draw enough power to drain a battery over night.
My 02 GTP had this problem and as a matter of fact it got hot enough to start burning me so I pulled the fuse. It is a 15amp fuse located in the glove box compartment, the diagram for it's location is on the inside of the fusebox cover.
