where exactley is it comming from is it from the rocker cover or the sump either way a new gasket will be needed check hoses around the carbs as well and cylinder head as gaskets can go but not all together but you get oil seaping out of cylinder head hope this helps ivan
I had this happen before......Have you checked the fuses? If good I remember the wiring going thru the turn signal switch and replacing it solved the problem.
if it is the 1.8 yhen any rover k seris engine will fit, also the same engine is in lotus elise, mg from 1997 to 2004 caterham 7 1997 to 2002. if it the v6 the then good luck, this was also carried across the rover range , harder to source though.

dear, you need the proper timing tools for a v6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you need qite a bit of experience to do that job or when you start the engine it wont run properly.........i suggest getting a mechanic you know to help you or take it to a garage or you could end up wrecking the engine...............sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you dont get it right you gunna need a new engine
