Have 2005 dodge Magnum and I think my transmission gone. Car won't move when put in drive or reverse. What could it be

LOW FLUID WILL CAUSE THE CLUTCHES INSIDE THE TRANS TO BURN. IF THE RPMS GO UP AND THE CAR DOESNT WANT TO MOVE IN DRIVE SADLY ITS TIME FOR A TRANS REBUILD

Guage showing overheat and locking up 2011 nissan urvan

steam from exhaust means engine burning water/anti-freeze -more than likely your head gasket went when your vehicle overheats [radiator not cooling] every thing else gets hot and over heats-- your transmission cooling lines are connected to radiator so your transmission will overheat ---also burning water/antifreeze messes up the power that the engine produces very low and or stall condition so vehicle wont want to move --dont drive vehicle in this condition you might get lucky and could by just a gasket change [can also be an intake gasket] but if continue you can seize engine making a repair turn into an engine replacement as well as damanging transmission

My VW Bora 2001model cant drive on D coz everytime it goes to change the first gear it super revs as though on Neutral, so now am driving on the third gear which uses up my gas and it still doesnt change...

if you are able to change the transmission filters try that first is that doesnt help change the shift selenoids out they are under the filter and the filter is under the trannys pan. if it were me and i dont want to just take it to a transmission shop , i would go to TPS or any parts house and get a filter, pan gasket, the shift selenoids and new fluid and change it all at once. if that doest fix the problem then you will have to get it looked at. but before you do anything right now go to it and crank it and let it idle for about 10 min leave running and check the fluid level to see if its low if it is it will make it do that it may just be as simple as putting transmission fluid in it GOOD LUCK

Check engine light is on, and when i go past 40 it stops running. doesnt turn off just stops running.

check transmission fluid level.if fluid level okay, transmission fluid and filter been changed. code scan for ecm faults.sound like problem in the transmission torque converter.leaking valve body gasket or faulty valve body and bad oil pump losing pressure not enough oil pressure to get transmission in drive or over drive.

2002 audi a4 doesnt move while its in drive

What oil got changed? Engine oil? Trans. fluid? How long have you had the car since the output shaft seal was changed? What codes do you have coming from the TCM?
Improper fluid levels or incorrect fluid type will cause severe problems with these units.

When i put the car in drive, it doesnt feel like it engages and then when i go to drive it just moves a little bit then revs out, its like the gears are slipping

transmission failure, check fluid levels or service (oil filter change). This may or may not work and you may need the transmission replaced!!

The engine turns over with no trouble but when i put it in drive or reverse it doesnt move

If your fluid is full and shifter is moving the lever on the transmission when you move it, likely the transmission has gone away.

My tansmision does not move on d

sounds like the transmission is stuck in an upper gear. then when you put it in first it forces a down shift. this could be a number of things , pcm, wiring, trans valve body, a leaking valve body gasket, or even a dirty trans filter

Transmission fluid change

More than likely, like most automatic transmissions, yours does not have an oil plug. You need to drop the transmission oil pan to drain the old oil... You need to buy a transmission filter/pan gasket kit. The filter is located on the bottom of the tranny. You will see it when you remove the pan. Replace the filter, thoroughly remove any traces of old gasket material, clean the mating surfaces, and reinstall the pan with the new gasket. Torque the pan bolts to the manufacturers spec (you should be able to get this where you buy the filter/gasket kit). Refill the transmission through the dipstick (Capacity for the Voyager is 4 quarts, make sure to use ATF Plus (Type 7176) for your particular tranny, NOT Dexron, Mercon, or generic automatic transmission fluid, Chrysler transmissions do not like any other kind and tend to fail quite quickly with the wrong fluid). Fill to the full cold level. Start the engine, move the shifter through all gear ranges, and put it back in park. Leave the engine running and refill to cold full. Drive the car for 5-10 minutes and, with the engine still running and the car in park, fill to Hot full. You should be ready to go!
