Question about 2002 Dodge Dakota Club Cab

2002 dodge dakota club cab 3.9 4x4. lacks power, not shifting properly, bogs

Installed new 3.9. Had to several techs concerning: lacks power. bogs down when it eventually gets up to 3000rpm, pops from throttlebody,it slowly accelerates, rpm runs high. According to techs there are no trouble codes on scanning, although once in awhile it will indicate a misfire on 1,3,5. I changed o2 sensor, changed cat converter and muffler, had the fuel pump tested for pressure and volume which tested good. At the end of the rope, and really need help. Thank you in advance.

i have the same problem. i have compleatly rebuilt my engine, new cam, springs, valves, roller rockers, lifters. bored 0.30 over with forged flattop pistons. computer flashed, msd ignition. intake. 100 shot nos. jba shorty headers. tranny work. all of it done to a 3.9 v6. and i have that same exact problom cant figure it boggs its way to 3000 rpm then slowly climes. and u can feel the hold back of power. and it spits and pops when taking off from a stop.

they told me it could be lacking fuel press. got the tranny resently rebuilt so no lake of performace their but im stumped.they also said my fuel timing was off... not shure bout that yet though. let me know if u find the prob.

This is crazy. I also have a 2002 dodge dakota 4x4 3.9. It has very low power and seems to always be bogged down. my truck is an automatic and it tends to shift very hard all the time. I only have 124,000 miles on the truck and the mechanice always tell me to change the oil plugs and use high performace wires. Ive done this several times and still same results. Please help

Did you disconnect the battery for 5 minuted after the parts were installed to reset the system parameters? If not do that and see if it corrects the problems.

I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT, club cab, 4wd, 6.5 bed, automatic w/ overdrive, 4.7. If I have a 1200 lb. camper on the bed of my truck, how much can I safely tow

dakota is meant from manufacture to haul max. 5,000 lbs so you have a 1200 lbs camper that leaves you a capacity of tounge weight of 3800 lbs safley and anything over may cause severe damage to your vehicle,or others around you,be safe
