i recently experienced the same issue. it can be your tensioner pulley or your water pump see the belts are connected to the pulleys and sometimes get worn out and need to be replaced. especially on a older car see a mecanic

Locate your petrol tank, then at top of it there is a hole where you can get access to the float level switch, before you removed it you check the socket on it, maybe lose connection.

you are not allowed to fit your own towbar anywhere in europe now ,it can only be done by an authorised agent with the necessary rubber stamps
