SOURCE: volvo 850 turbo wagon motor mount failed inspection

if this is the right front mount just behind the r/f wheel that would be ok, if this is the top mount on the engine below the windsheild go to IPD Volvo site and get the mount and do it yourself (easy)

Try cleaning the throttle body and air idle control valve (IAC). The computer kicks the idle up when the a/c is on, if your throttle body or AIC valve is full of crud it will idle very low and feel rough.

SOURCE: Car stalling

Hi there i too have a 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo, i went through the same awful, dangerous stalling problem if you have the same lights coming up, oil, and what not then sudden loss of power, no engine rpm but other electrics like radio work etc, i could never tell that i was stalling because i always had the music on, but watch the Rpm's i also had no power steering so i found out quick i was stalled, i would then after a few minutes, 5 max be able to restart the car, it should very likely be the fuel pump relay, its located where the fuses are on the left side under a couple of torx screws, its a green most likely relay labeled 103, if its red it might have already been changed or newer, i'm not sure what the colour difference does, but i replaced my relay with a 103 red relay from a 1998, or 1999 Volvo s&0 same relay. I found and researched that its a famous problem and can be many things like cam shaft postilion sensor, vacuum leaks, fuel pump etc, but if you can hear the pump on start up when the car is just ON it should be fine, the relay after time becomes intermittent and switches on and off as it pleases sometimes aggravated by turns and what not i think to due the pump and gas slushing around? However, you have described the exact problem my car had and the Volvo Experts couldn't figure it out, it never stalled for them during roads tests or during a run in the shop, always did for me, its the Fuel Pump Relay* available on ebay, for cheap as pay no more than $60 Cdn, as i think a new one is around that price.
A recommendation is to get the redish pinky one as it worked for me, i know it is newer than the green 103 relay, let me know if it works but it for sure changed things for me, no more scare of ending up a road hazard or being embarrassed.

My 1994 Volvo 850 turbo has been loosing power mainly going down hills. It will turn over and start right after, then I put it in drive and it dies again. Last night I waited an hour before trying it

It may be your fuel regulator, mine did the same thing, and the turbo should go almost down to no power while going down hill, thats normal

What is ignition circuit, where does it locate in 1994 volvo 850?

Did you check all plugs for fire? If fire on some , not others, coil pack bad. If no spark at all cylinders, I would lean toward a distributor cap and button.

Sounds like its in limp mode, where the transmission has a problem and to protect the vehicle it will not go faster. Check online for the parts you need, its mostly a solenoid that fails, unless you blew 3rd gear or something.

check or replace the cam sensor, this sensor sense the turning of the cranksaft by sending info to ECU telling ecu to tell the coil to disperse the sparks. is the cam sensor is faulty than you will not get any fire/sparks from the coil assuming the coil, wires and plugs are good. crank sensor does the same but turn on the fuel pump. hope that help some
