SOURCE: renault clio bonnet wont open

Get a second person to pull bonnet catch and you push up and down on the bonnet whilst catch is being pulled. 1, cable possibly stretched, 2, look at bonnet catch under the coloum to see if wire is attached, 3, try and lie under car and look up the back of the bulkhead to see the catch and release it manually. Hope that helps.

The battery of my Renault Scenic is flat, I need to open the bonnet to fit a new battery. How do I do that

There should be a bonnet release handle in the vehicle low and almost under the dashboard. Pulling that handle is the first step. After pulling that handle if you go to the front of the vehicle then under the bonnet there should be an additional handle to move right or left to completely release the hood.

My bonnet on my BMW e36 wont close fully so it is flush to the wings like it is suppose to, is there anyway i can adjust the bonnet to make it be fully closed and flush to the rest of the car many thanks...

My bonet on my 1 series wont close properly it doesnt appear to be catching in the release lock although the mechanisim is working when I press down on it manually. The bonnet is only staying shut because the opener catch/hook is working, but this is the only thing holding it closed.

My open bonnet does not work properly.

Is the cable connecting the the hood release (inside the car) to the hood latch broken?
If you can see where it broke, you can take a pair of pliers and pull the cable. You can see if you can trace the cable which will run inside your fender wall.

Lastly, you may need to get at the latch through the grill

Bonnet release in grill broke renault megane scenic

when you say the bonnet has been pushed in do you mean like in a traffic accident if this is the case then is your grill damaged, the reason i say this is the only way you are going to open your bonnet is through your grill so a replacement grill will be needed.if you take this course of action, take a torch and look up under the bonnet you will se the bonnet realease at the very front of your bonnet it will have the bonnet realease cable attached you might need help at this stage, get a friend to push down on your bonnet, put your hand in and push or pull the lever until it releases as this works on a hook system and with the damage it might need a pretty stronge screwdriver to force it always remember the radiator is very easly damaged and very costly to replace .Hope this will help you get your bonnet open .adrian

I recently bought a second hand 54 reg Scenic and when I used the key card to lock the car it emitted a high pitched noise/sound/whistle. While looking for the source of the sound I leant on the bonnet. I found that every time I put pressure on a certain point on the bonnet the noise stopped, but when I took my hand off it started again. I guessed it must be some kind of contact breaker, so opened the bonnet and took a look. I spotted two contacts on the underside of the bonnet and guessed they were being held too far from the main body, on the edge on the opening I found two round rubber adjustable dampers (presumably to stop the bonnet banging when closed) I screwed them both in slightly and it cured the problem.
It's worth checking this before taking the car to the garage. I guess the high pitched noise is to warn you that something isn't closing properly.
