SOURCE: running rich and blowing black smoke

Could be a number of different things.Fuel pressure relief valve not working, injector pulse too long,Is the air box lid securely fastened and air cleaner clean. Are there no leaks between the air box and throttle body(intake tube).Have you checked oxy sensor.air flow meter may be also possible.Try squeezing the flexible fuel hose enough to allow the engine to run and see if the engine reacts better if it does you have excessive fuel pressure.

SOURCE: blowing oil and smoke

When overfilled, how long before the level was drained back to normal, or was it? The problem with overfilling, is that the oil will 'foam' and not lubricate properly. This can result in serious engine damage. So, make sure it's at the proper level now, if it is, I believe the engine was damaged due to lack of proper lubrication. Wish I had better news. Good luck.

VW Passat 05. 01-05 shape. When I start it first thing in morning I get blue smoke, covers driveway, but only lasts about 2minutes and no smoke then or while driving. For that two minutes car also shudders...

You have bad valve seals. Blue smoke is oil burning. White is water/coolant, black is to much fuel. If the car runs good after the smoke, then it isn't a head job. I recommend you get a manual. It is exitensive work,, but follow the manual and you can do it.

Motor is smoking in my '02 diamante, is it the gasket?

Smoke diagnostic is made by colour.
If u mean pistons head gasket, yes,it can smoke.
White (clear) water vapor.Ceck coolant level.Ceck engine oil colour by dipstick.

Black:runs rech on fuel (fuel filter/fuel lines/fuel mixture...)
Blue (whity):worn pistons rings.

Chears.
Tips:
Whity smoke before warming may be natural on cilli mornings with lot of compressure the engines just blows vapors.
Old oil/fuel residues in the exhaust tubing may blow smoke after heating the engine ,must track problem (...).
Black smoke on hitting the acceleration to the floor may be natural (overcharged) avoid sport driving style.

My mazda 626 has a strong potent smell coming from the exhaust

You don't mention what that smell is reminiscent of?

You don't mention the colour of the "smoke" and you didn't say whether the engine is petrol or diesel?

You don't mention whether the road behaviour/performance is normal?

White smoke is almost always steam or in the case of a diesel it could be an unburned fuel mist, grey/black is excess fuel and blue or grey/blue is burning oil.

Some steam is fairly normal until the engine and exhaust system is hot but excessive amounts could be one symptom of head gasket trouble. If the engine is drinking coolant and sending it through the exhaust as steam it will sometimes smell spicy.

Burning oil smells a bit like burned eggs in the frying pan.

If the car hasn't ultra-low sulphur oil and fuel the catalytic converter will convert sulphur traces into hydrogen sulphide - the bad egg gas...

New turbo diesel L/cruiser engine blowin smoke

Its getting oil in the cylinders from somewhere. With it being more smokey in the morning leeds me to think its valve stem seals ( oil lying on top of the cylinder head around the valves) . Could the new engine have been old stock. If so then the stem seals probably hardened. They may soften with running a while. If it is under warranty take it back now.
