Most manual power steering pumps have a coned shaft with a keyway so it should be possible to just refit it unless the nut thread is damaged where it has run with it being loose .

    collin, these are not european cars. the pulley is pressed onto the pump. there is no keyway !

    could be anything as product not stated so it could be a tata truck in india a merc truck in europe or even a car from the 50s but not many had power steering in them days from what i remember ,this web site is used by people from all over the world in more than one language as well yes the world is round and not just flat with america in the middle .Right said my piece so now its off to work and guess what its a dreaded RENAULT this morning with electrical problem so say a pray for me

    Also, depending on the motor it may not even have a power steering pulley. The pump would be driven off of the camshaf.

SOURCE: The serpentine belt seems missaligned

The tensioners have always been a problem on the mini vans,if everything else that the belt rides on looks good then its probably the tensioner

find the adjuster, (you didnt say engine option, type. so., cant answer)
loosen the adjuster, and take off belt , then put back, then adjust to spec. (the FSM covers this .) as does

I cant find the dipstick for transmission fluid on my2005 Chevy equinox or my reservoir for power steering fluid

the dipstick is located near the firewall, it shold have a red handle on it. the power stearing is located near the belt on the front of engine on driver side look at the pullys one of them is the pump with the reservoir on it

Whistling sound can't keep car from running hot

It could be your power stearing pump. But it sounds more like a vacuum leak to me. Does it go away when you speed up your motor or get louder? It also could be just a belt. Or a tension pully.

The serpentine belt seems missaligned as it goes from the crank pully over the tentioner and down to the power stearing pully. the belt ride the tentioner towards the outside.

The tensioners have always been a problem on the mini vans,if everything else that the belt rides on looks good then its probably the tensioner

I had the same problem with my 98 Cadillac Deville. I changed the power steering pump and the hose that runs to the rack. The problem was solved, loud noises and whining stopped.

Honda civic whines when taking off

The whining is do to either too losse of a drive belt or power stearing pump going bad you need to have both checked or it also could by a pully bearing that is bad have your pullies checked aswell.

Replace shattered pulley on power stearing pump

should be two halves that look like half moons that clamp over the power steering pully and the adapter. that pulls it off good luck
