Jason I cant help if you don't give me any answers to my questions.

If your plugs flooded and your positive that your getting spark than you will need a scan tool to look at live data. You may have something as simple as a coolant temp sensor that has gone bad.

Also are ou sure he didn't overheat the vehicle? This would cause the symptoms you described. A compression test of the cylinders may not be a bad idea!

  • jason perkins Feb 25, 2012

no the car did not over heat. I took all 4 plugs out and they have good spark.

the lights on the dash come on and the oil and batterie lights stay on when the key is in the on positon. sorry it takes a long time to ansewer the car is down the road and the lap top is in the house.

And the check engine light comes on as well during the bulb check?

If so than like I said you will need to get a scan tool to see what the data is telling you.

  • jason perkins Feb 25, 2012

yes the check engine light comes on and it will turn off.

Do you notice anything unusual with the dash lights when you turn the key on. All the warning lights should illuminate. If they do not but then come on as you start to rotate the key into the start position than you probably have a bad ignition switch.

If you turn the key to the start position and hold it there (only do this for a few seconds) will the car stay running until you let go of the key? Another clue that the ignition switch may be bad.

if you turn the key to the start position and the vehicle starts slowly let the key rotate back to the run position until the starter disengages. If the vehicle continues to run let go of the key. If the vehicle stalls than the ignition switch is definitely bad.

Sounds like you have a bad tire. Or have lost a wheel weight and a tire is out of balance.
