What will be the problem if i have a taping noise when i start my car until it gets warm mitsubishi 380

A tapping noise that starts out cold and goes away when warm is usually caused by a valve lifter inside the engine. The lifter may be worn/leaking down and will be noisy until it fills with oil pressure. You can try an oil additive ( Lucas Oil Additive ) available at most part stores works very well with noisy lifters. Another noise that can happen cold and go away when warm is an exhaust manifold leak. However, this is normally a ticking type sound rather than a tapping sound.

2000 Sportage- new fan clutch & now has a LOUD noise. Sounds like an airplane prop winding up for take off. Fan is NOT on backward, it's blowing toward the engine. HELP! What's up?

fan clutches ( viscous fan hubs ) lock up on starting and produce the wind noise
on a cold engine it will last about 1 minute while the silicon fluid is being pumped to a small reservoir in the hub where it remains until heat from the radiator moves a bimetalic spring that allows the valve to open and pump fluid into the drive section where it increases the drag on the fan drive and so spins the fan
If it continues to be noisy then check that the valve control at the centre on the front of the hub is intact and not damaged
as a consolation if you can hear the fan it is working and pulling air through the radiator
it is when you don't hear it that there could be a problem especially when at lights as there is not air flow so the engine can over heat
That is not to say that the hub is not faulty from new
if you find a service centre that is an accredited shop , the mechanic has equipment that can check the hub operation

What causes rough idle on a 2006 ford explorer

this could be a lot of things so let's go down the line here with a few questions and answers O.K most times it's a tune up issue ,check your air filter, spark plugs can be out of gap , so let's take them out clean them and if they can be re-gapped do that if not change them with brand new ones if up on removal you find that they are wet with antifreeze or are covered with oil there is a anti freeze leak an intake manifold leaking gasket or you have internal engine damage if no liquids are present HOORAY! FOR YOU,INSPECT THE BOOTS FOR CRACKS BY BENDING THEM BACK AND FORTH AND SQUEEZING THE BOOTS AROUND THE PLUG HOLE AND REPLACE THEM ALL IF YOU FIND ONE THAT IS CRACKED BECAUSE HEAT AND AGE IS THE CULPRIT HERE AND YOU SHOULD CHANGE THEM ALL SO THE PROBLEM DOESN'T COME BACK SOON AND CAN BE RULED OUT AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS next after cleaning the plugs/new ones has been done and the problem persists spray some fuel injection cleaner into the throttle body and rev the engine while doing it and do this a few times this will clean out the throttle body and fuel injectors partially if you are using the cheapest gas you can get EX.(GO,GO,SUN,USA ,GAS ,PILOT,VALERO,DELTA NO NAME BRANDED) your fuel system is very dirty and the problem is going to come back soon if not relieved at all this no name fuel has no detergents in it no additives for carbon removal and your fuel system and valves are covered in carbon and varnish and this can be like glue inside and causes sticking valves , even though ford says 87 octane 93 is the way to go and the major brands are what should be used with increased mileage and cleaner combustion/valve train is what you want here. fuel system cleaner like gum out that's why they call it that in the tank two bottles if your using no name junk fuel. SO DO YOUR TRUCK A FAVOR GO GET A TANK OF BP ULTIMATE,EXXON PREMIUM,SHELL,MOBILE THE MAJOR BRANDS OF PREMIUM GAS WILL HELP TO CLEAN OUT SOME OF THE GUNK AND VARNISH 93 OCTANE FUEL AND A HIGHWAY DRIVE WILL HELP CLEAN YOUR SYSTEM, SO DO THESE THINGS AND POST BACK WITH PROGRESS AND PLEASE BE VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT YOU DID SO WE CAN NOW CHECK OTHER POSSIBILITIES

Tapping noise

rocker arms need adjusted gap is too wide . the increased rpms make it noisy. stp would muffle it but it needs the gap set cause if you really rev it hard something up top can let go from the slapping of the rocker arms on top of your valves

Noisy valves 5.2 engine

How noisy are they, are they noisy when you start the engine and then quiet down, do they get louded as you go faster? Noisy valves could be normal as Chrysler engines do have a clicking sound on these big engines. It is a hemi by the way.

My 1998 Buick Lesabre ,I just had an oil change, it just developed has noisy lifters. Also the antifreeze reservoir is always losing the fluid, I am always refilling.

Suggest you check your exhaust on startup, is it very steamed up. Unless you see fluid on the ground after you have been driving, it may be being burnt inside the engine via a leaking head gasket, causing part of the head to misfire, 1 or 2 cyls. Is the oil milky? a sure sign of a leaking manifold gasket. At the end of the day, the coolant must be going somewhere, if its not on the floor, its in the head/manifold. A manifold leak is not so bad, Head gasket is not so good..worth doing a compression test and block test if you can. Also, change the oil again and put in at lest 10W-30 weight, your car is too old for 5/20 5/30...Hope that helps..Tim

The car is noisy when accelerating what could be the problem

Poor fuel or vaccuum leaks will cause valve noise or pinging on acceleration, try a good grade of fuel and a bottle of outlaw octane booster.

2005 yukon denali is overheating

Start it cold with rad cap off, and heater on high heat, and let it run until you see increased flow in radiator, indicating thermostat opened & engine reached operating temperature. Rev engine slightly every once in a while and hold it there for 10-20 seconds, just to help purge air better/faster. Watch rad flow again, and wait until you see increased flow 3 or 4 times. Then top up coolant in rad to an inch or 2 from top of rad, and put cap back on. Top up return bottle to appropriate level on bottle & then try it again. If it still heats up, get back to me. Does it overheat at all times? Rad fan is good i take it?

Exactly the same prob. on my 01 gs.

I think the "rattleing" you hear has nothing to do with the car or octane. Also, higher octane fuels generate less heat, believe it or not.
