Question about 1991 Ford F150

I have a 1991 ford f150 6cyl. when I give it a light gas its runs ok, but if I give it a hard gas it seem to bogg down and shake, sputter. why is it doing this? I did change the fuel filter and still doing the same..

Ahhh. you have one of the first verisions of fuel injection... check all your vacuum lines, had a 89 ford f-150 I-6 with a similar problem years back. did everything from change vieciel speed sensor to the oxygen sensor... it was a tiny leak in vacuum line... Good luck!!

Do you have a check engine light lit ? Did you let it warm to normal operating temperature, If you do does it still running poorly ? You should have it hook up to a diagnostic tool to see what sensor or sensors is out of specification ! Could have coolant temp. , mass air , throttle position sensor , problem !

1991 Geo Metro Automatic/ Sputters, runs rough only in gear.


Could possible be a bad or stuck vaccum advantace mechanism. Check for operation.
