Hello, I have a 2006 F150 4x4. When I'm driving up a hill or when the truck is under a load I have a noise coming from under the front to middle driver's side. It sounds like i'm dragging a plastic trash bag. Has anyone else heard this noise our have a solution?

You need to have your foot on the brake, put the Trans in Neutral, and then shift the Selector to 4 Wheel low. If this does not work you need to check the wire at the transmission for Voltage changes. Each position on the selector has a Resistor and they use 1 Servo to make the gear changes. You need to see if the Selector has different Voltages in each position. If it does, then the Servo is not responding.

But do not forget the Interlock of the brake pedal for the gears to change. Also check for light at the Selector switch. If the lightbulb is burned out you will sometimes throw off resistance and wind up missing functions.

A ticking sound on a 06 ford f150 super crew 5.4L

Ticking sound could be coming from a Coil-on-Plug, or a pcv valve, or (hope it's not) a valve lifter which could be sticking. Sticking lifter noise often disappears when rpm's change, or the noise comes & goes. try changing the motor oil & filter right after adding an Engine-Flush Treatment to the motor oil, running the engine for 10 minutes at idle with treatment added to the oil, then draining the oil & changing filter while oil is still very hot. That last part is very important, so be careful not to burn your hands - be careful. -- The sticking lifter is a likely cause if motor oil has not been changed at frequent intervals in the past (every 3-4K miles) -- dirty oil causes sticking lifters.

When I accelerate up a hill there is a noise that sounds like it might be fuel injectors, its a 'ticking' type noise, you only hear it when accelerating up a hill.

This noise is called pinging (preignition) this can be cause by carbon build up on pistons and valves or EGR SYSTEM NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY . and last low octane gas or engine running hotter than normal,

It sounds like it does this while under a load, like going uphills, i would have the egr system checked, being a 2000 escort i would think the computer would pickup on the egr system not working and turn engine light on. This could also be caused by bad o2 sensors setting fuel mixture at a lean condition. good day

Sounds like fuel starvation, causes may be.
Dirty fuel in tank
Dirty fuel filter.
vaccuum in fuel tank (there is a vent in all fillers)
Best wishes.

Hello, my name is Fara, and my girlfriend she owns a Toyota Harrier 1999, 3.0l v6, automatic, some time back when we purchased it the strange noise was heard when car was going up on the hill, and then...

From past experience in my 40 years of working on engines, under a load going uphill any engine can make noises at those times. It is probably a worn cylinder wall or wrist pin. In time it will make this noise on level ground so my advice is to part with this car as soon as you can of pay to repair it

Misfire under load and check light comes on for a second have taken to Hyundai they said the usual Plugs Leads, Injectors and wanted around $600 to clean Injectors and Throttle body. I replace Plugs and...

Up hills & under a load --could be the EGR Valve
as you have a high vacuum load

The temp goes up on hills & yes the coil packs
could break down. That won't show up in the service
bay the way a dealer tests it.

Not the Throttle Body or Injectors
Sounds good & makes them money
That is what they do,after 3 visits & parting
with your money, then they will work on the misfire
Sad isn't it

Never go to a dealer. Try a local shop

My 2005 Honda odyssey with 96k miles whines when in drive and under load. When coasting the noise goes away. It is not there in neutral. The noise increases in pitch with speed

Sounds like differential or differential bearings as it happens under load,if it was just wheel bearings it would do it rolling down a hill even with the engine switched off, it needs to be driven by an experienced mechanic to diagnose the noise but thats probably it
