The coil that I'm speaking of is square and it has fins and is bolted down at the bottom of the radiator in front of it with two bolts-one on the left and one on the right. That where the power steering fluid seems to be leaking from

What the seal leaks do is soften the rubber, not the best long term solution. Try taking a wrench, the correct size, and snug down all the fittings, not to tight. If it is coming from, as you described, down through the boot it could be a seal. Wipe down the unit well and watch as you have someone tune the wheel back and forth. The engine should be running to build up pressure, so be very careful not to get run over. Apply the emergency brake well and chock the tires.

low transmission will not turn on the light, only a coincidence, you need to have the code read with a scan tool to fix the problem and turn off the light.

The line could need to be tightened. Tighten it with a 1/2" line wrench.(I think thats the right size for your car) Then check the trans fluid level to be sure its at the right level.

SOURCE: how to change power steering fluid on a 2004

I suggest visiting the autozone.com website and register the vehicle information. It's free and you will have access to an online repair manual for the vehicle. It's pretty handy and info on the steering system can be found there. They may also list any recall information on the vehicle. I think that you'll find it to be a nice resource for anyone doing their own vehicle maintenance. Sure hope you find this helpful and best wishes.

Transmission fluid! You need to find the leak and stop it; top up the transmission before it is damaged. Check the lower pan for a gasket leaking and examine the transmission fluid cooler lines running to radiator or to in front of radiator.

My 2002 Trailblazer is using a LOT of transmission fluid! I am having to put half a quart in a WEEK! Could someone PLEASE help me?? What should I do? I just bought this thing!

Transmissions dont "use" fluid. If you are replacing half a quart a week you have a leak somewhere.. Try tightening the transmission pan bolts. If this doesnt stop the leak you may have a bad pan gasket. There are also two small tubes running from the ****** to the radiator for cooling. One or both may be leaking. Put a liece of cardboatd or wood under your truck to catch drips. This will help you to locate where it is leaking from.

ON MY 2002 TRAILBLAZER, I HAVE TO KEEP ADDIND POWER STEERING FLUID ABOUT EVERY 5 MILES OR MORE. I DON'T SEE IT ON THE GROUND FROM LEAKING OUT, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT'S GOING. DOES ANYON

Ho Thomas, It sounds as if the leakage is when the vehicle is being driven that the leakage occurs. That means it is either from the pump or the box or the pipes going to and from. The leakage happens when the vehicle is being driven If you look at those areas you will see where it is wet with fluid and you'll then identify where the problem is. Regards John

Power steering

Sounds like your pressure needs to be checked for your power steering pump or maybe if that is ok the spool valve seals inside your rack are worn and letting fluid past under pressure.

A belt snapped, leaked antifreeze and no power steering

If it was the timing belt, the car would have quit right then and there.
It's the belt that drives the fan, water pump and power steering.
Probably what they call the serpintine belt.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee leaking coolant and power steering fluid

Just a heads up, $10 bucks will buy you a seal kit for the P.S. pump. I topped mine off for a couple months, then the oring on the high pressure line (from pump, front center) blew and dumped the reservoir in a matter of miles.

The line can be a stinker to get off, recommend driving the car for a few minutes to heat up the pump a little. Don't forget the 20MM wrench.
