99 camaro starts and dies after only a few seconds

Check for vacuum leaks eg. PVC hose power booster and hoses around manifold area.

What engine ? 4.3 , 4.8 , 5.3 or 6.0 l What fuel injection system ? What is the fuel pressure ? Do you know what fuel trims are ? The fuel pressure regulator's are prone to leaking to leaking on thses SPI injection system./

Its a hot start issue.

Can be related to low fuel pressure or problem with crank sensor.

Also it can be weak battery or starter.

Do a fuel pressure test. If you have compression, and good spark, this is where you should start.

this might sound stupid, have a look in the exhaust and see if the muffler (ime from uk so hope thats a correct term) internals have not collapsed or you have a blockage in it. this might be a problem, have you got a cat converter on it? that might be doing the same, if its gasoleen or diesel it might be the cause, just a guess as not been able to see it in flesh...

check the fuel filter air filter and vacuume lines if they all good make sure the spark plugs are making a bright blue spark

idle speed sensor maybe bad. check for codes

usually when the camaro runs rough that could be bad fuel injectors-o2sensor and fuel filter-thats my guess i had the same problem and i put bad gas in and the fuel filter went bad

it could be the fuel pump not working right. you can buy an electric one and put on there and it will tell you right away if your original fuel pump is dead

Sounds like it could be a bad map sensor.
