Question about 2008 Acura Rdx

Rough idle and stalling

I have a 2008 acura rdx turbo which recently has started running very rough at cold idle, (it settles a bit once the engine warms up to almost complete normal operating temperatures), it sometimes will stall when the engine is cold at idle, and if the vehicle is put into gear shortly after starting it almost always stalls and is very difficult to get re-started. It's not kicking out any codes either.

It will have codes but the scanner in use doesn't have the right protocol for reading them
Indicates a faulty ambient air temp or BARO sensor so there will be codes

SOURCE: Car starts poorly during cold mornings. The idle

Sounds like a cold start valve (which is actually an additional injector in the intake to assist in cold starting) If you can get it to your local prts store while the light is on they will read the codes for free and tell you what the car thinks is amiss.

You need to have the diagnostic codes read. Anything else is pure guessing. Those codes can point you in the right direction and often will tell you exactly what is wrong.

I have a 97 ACURA cl 2.2 and when I start my engine it the rpm idles to 1. Why is that?

unless the car is at operating temperature , the engine rpms on start is hiogher the at run as the ECM has a higer setting for idle ( like having a choke out a bit ) until the engine checks are done and then it settles back
best run the fault codes to check for faulty sensors

All engines spill oil when running from the fill cap. That is why user manuals state that the oil should be filled only when the engine is not running!

I am haveing trouble with my 1996 Mazda B2300, When I start my truck after its been sitting for any length of timeI have to rev the engine to get it started, I have to continue reving until engine is warm...

Replace the temperature sending unit/sensor. This sensor tells the computer to put the engine into cold start mode and it then sets idle a bit higher and puts a bit more fuel into the engine to keep it running without having to touch the throttle. Once it's warm, sensor tells computer to go to normal run mode and it's done. No problem.

First change fuel filter and then change air filter. A turbo requires good air flow to spool-up correctly
