What keep making my 1988 delta88 stall out

The code is coming back to the CAM sensor/ Cam sensor circuit. The CAM sensor on this car is inside the dizzy. Check the wiring and connectors to the CAM sensor. Sometimes people opt to install a new distributor all together and go from there but that is your decision...
Hope this helps.

Hi My car engine just died on highway. Check engine light came on. Diagnostic showed P0340 CAM sensor error. Got it replaced but error still there. Got Fuel filter and the sensor on the engine Oil cae(...

The cam sensor is supplied a reference voltage by the engine computer and the cam sensor should generate a signal back to the engine computer above 50 rpm of the engine cranking. The problem could be a faulty purchased cam sensor (yes this happens sometimes although rare) fwiring connector problem at cam sensor or faulty engine computer.

CAMSHAFT SENSOR

when you unplug the cam sensor it runs?what that mean is that most likely your sensor is bad..reason for that is when your cam sensor is out you unplug it...it will run because it forces the computer to get a reading/signal from the crankshaft sensor or somewhere else like that..and when you plug it in it is getting a bad reading from the cam sensor wich will cause it not to run..so my advise is your cam sensor is bad..

Well most cam sensors are set at an exact location no adjustment, but if you havent got a repair manual for the specific car you are working on then .050 inches is normally the clearance on cam sensors. So try hat and let me know how ya did... Hope that does it for ya
