You do not need to connect the three vacume hoses to the EGR just find one that has vacume to it upon accelaration with the car running pull a vacume hose off the carburator with a vacume gage or your finger check to see if you got vacume if not accelarate carb if you do connect vacume line to EGR
It may be possible that you may have a dirty fuel filter and it needs to be replaced, ibwould first check that, next check your o2 sensor, it could be causing it to cut out the way it is. Finally it may be dirty injectors which you can get cleaned with a DIY kit. However I am betting that it is your fuel filter that simply needs replaced. The EGR valve is closed when the engine is cold and should open when warmed up. Have all componets check to see if they are functiong correctly. Auto Zone provides a free computer scan at no charge . They will avise you what is in need or replacing and how much for the part. These parts are easily installed too
