Transmission light is on, and transmission started slipping
Once this (slipping) happens the transmission is done and will need to be removed and overhauled.

you'll need to get it diagn., it can be as simple as a "VSS" sensor, or a transmission, check the fluid and if BURNT, your looking at a trans.....GL....

The longer you drive with that condition, the more damage you will cause. Park it until you can repair it.
Think of it as how long would you think it is okay to run your engine without oil? Zero.

Check the fluid level in the tranny. If that is good try servicing the tranny with a new filter if that dosen't work I would think that the torque converter may be acting up.

ITS VERY MESSY UNLESS YOU HAVE A BIG PAN TO CATCH ALL THE TRANNY FLUID, BRING IT TO A TRANNY SHOP INSTEAD, PAY SOMEWHERE FROM $75 TO $100
