2011 subaru legacy low idle when stopped at lights

Doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally. Temperature and elevation do not matter. Dealer said to have the transmission flushed.

SOURCE: 1999 Subaru Legacy Sedan.. speedometer works

I finally fixed mine, on my 1999 Subaru legacy 30th anniv edition. . .

I removed the speedometer head, and resoldered the green connector on the board. Then I also ran a wire to duplicate the trace wire from the middle pin to the first connect (about 4mm). Problem gone.

SOURCE: overheating

Have you checked to see if the radiator fan works? And have you checked to see if the water pump works? Two very important items key to overheating.

The heater just quit working. It worked fine yesterday but this morning it does not. The car is running a little hotter trhan normal but not overheating. Any ideas?

I would check to make sure the radiator is full and the overflow tank is filled to the proper level. It doesn't have to be very low for these cars to stop blowing heat.

sounds to me like it might be a bad earth, as said above some grounding issues. check the connections and use terminal cleaner if needed also check wires on the back of alternator. seems to be a common problem with the people i speak with. when you say it runs a little faster when aircon is switched on i assume you mean the idle picks up, if so its just the aircon compressor kicking in, theres an idle control unit attached to the intake thats not a problem. check the terminal above the brake pedal you will see it connected there.

My 94 Sedan DeVille had the same problem. The car ran great but would stall whenever I stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. Turned out to the the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It monitors and controls the idle. What happens is the secondary idle (idle when the car is warm) is too low. Since all the controls for fuel mixture, idle etc are done electronically, they can't be manually adjusted. The TPS is the most likely cause of your issue. A diagnostic test (performed free at most chain auto parts stores) will be able to confirm this or lead you to another component. Best of luck to you!

'90 Subaru Legacy overheating....

cool air and overheating point to low coolant level. Do you have a bleeder valve near the thermostat? You may have air trapped in the system. If no air trapped, the radiator may be plugged up not allowing proper circulation of coolant.

1995 Subaru Legacy Wagon. Engine dies at low idle.

I understand you have maintained it properly, But often people seem to forget things like the Fuel filter. Another cause is vacuum leaks. If the car has a miss you might try a can of Seafoam through the fuel system. Cleans the system very nicely and improves fuel mileage. Hope this helps to return the Subbie to its dependable abilities. Good luck.
