no not throttle body. its my i.a.c. valve. the iac is located on the intake manifold and has two lines coming off it, they are coolant. one goes in a tight spon right under mi i. m. the other can go there to but for some reason i think one hose came frome water pump, you say water pump to throtle body area? that means i got it right but it runs like ****...

Some cars have the throttle body and IAC combined. The answer is still the same . The Idle is determined by the heat of the coolant.
Sure sound like you have it right.
You had the Intake and or Head off.. look for other Vacuum leaks if it's runnig bad

it started with my idle bouncing, only when cold. once warm itl drop down and purr. i read online if you clean your iac valve itle stop so i did but i broke the lines coming off, they were real brittle. then broke more replacing those, next thing i no i got intake manifold off. shes complete now but still bouncing idle and its worse than before, it dont stop when its thinking i got coolant lines mixed up?????

It sounds like you cleaned the High Idle area Not the IAC which is an electrical component.
IAC gets carbon deposits and holds it open when it shouldn't be.
90% sure it does not matter what hose goes where on the High Idle area. As long as coolant circulates through it, it will work

you are correct On this year it was basically a thermostat controlled Idle.
If the car idles down. You have teh hose correct. A surging idle is usually a vacuum leak.
You put a new intake manifold gasket on, you torqued teh Intake down properly?

I had the sme problem with my 1992 prelude si. The problem with mine was that the intake manifold gasket was leaking horribly. The idle would go up and down just setting there, but when I held the brake long enough it stopped. An easy way to see if it is the gasket is get WD40 or Brakleen or soemthing like that, and spary it where the intake manifols bolts to the block. If you hear a change in the idle speed (faster or slower) just change out the gasket.

SOURCE: 1989 honda prelude. engine surges. from normal to 2100 rpms

There is a warm up valve on the throttle body(should have 2 small coolant hoses). remove the valve and have someone start the car while you block the port to the valve on the intake. If that clears up the problem you can cut a piece of cardboard to mount in between the valve and intake.should straighten it out.

Will a 1993 prelude automatic transmission fit my 1992 honda accord

If it's the S model, it *should* as it has a F22 motor in it.. the Si and SE has a H23 motor, and the VTEC has a H22 motor. I have heard of people using the F22 transmission on a Prelude motor for longer gearing at highway speeds (per, but I haven't tried the combination myself

Sounds like it could be either a split vacuum hose or your idle control valve is faulty.

Have you changed your fast idle valve or air idel control valve I would change the air idle valve because it is the one with an electric sensor.

Hi you are going to need an idle air control motor. This motor/sensor is what holds your idle at the correct rpm at idle.

1990 Honda Prelude 2.0 si F.I. Idle Fluctuation

This problem is a little bit hard to coz you need to check the following throttle body, fast idle valve & the IACV valve. First the throttle body it must fully closed during idle and the TP sensor voltage must be 0.5 volt. The fast idle valve is wax type there is a 2 small hose pass below of this valve, if the coolant water is not circulating the valve will not closed. You can check it by touching the lower portion of this valve after 1 min. Regarding the IACV you can check if this is the fault by removing the hose connecting the throttle body and air filter. there is 2 small hole near the opening of the throttle body, while the engine is running at idle close one by one and see which one cause this problem.I hope this will give help to your problem.
