SOURCE: 2003 S10 service light is on
Yes advanced auto or autozone can reset this light with a scan tool for nothing. You can also do this yourself if you disconnect the battery cables for 5 minutes then reconnect them start your vehicle and let it idle with everything off including the radio and fan blower. Let it idle for 2 to 3 minutes to reset the computer. Provided there are no fault with your car the light will be off and stay off. If not then there is a problem and you would have to have it checked once again with the light on. I hope this helps. Don.t forget to rate my answer, thanks.

Ok, when the service engine light is illuminated, this Will represent a failed sensor or a malfunctioning cpu that will need to be diagnosed by a service tech. this light has a trouble code that will have all information that you will need to fix what the light is signaling at this time. you will need to take the vehicle to a mechanic or the dealership so they can connect the diagnosis cpu to your in Car cpu port. this diagnostic cpu will download the actual description of the issue at hand and , it Will direct you to the location of the problem with this engine as well.
In most cases, it will be a failed sensor of some sort.

Most major auto part chain stores have a loaner code scanner (they require you to leave your ID while you use the tool in their parking lot). There is a connector under the dash near on the drivers side that accepts the reader....check the codes and Google them for repair info or post them back here.
