You may have wheel bearing issues or if you have a 4x4 the u-joints on the front axle may be needing some attention. I would start by inspecting both for signs of wear and replace them if necessary. This is pretty straight forward mechanical work but get a repair book for your specific truck and read up on both procedures before starting. I use Chilton for my vehicles and it seems to be one of the best with to the point information.
Good luck.

Front end grinding noise

Several possibilities. Sound transmits through metal. The rear Emergency brakes will lose their lining and the linings fall into the rear brake drum. They will often pulverize the material and the piles of debris will shift when backing up and repeat the process going forward.
Rust on the front rotors. Constant battle. Can rust in 3 days enough to make noise. Sticking caliper or rubber brake hose is breaking down inside and blocking brake fluid return. Fluid has pressure to tighten caliper but relies on gravity/suction return. Rubber brake hoses internally can form flaps which act like 1 way gates.
Check other front axle for same parts, maybe 1/2 shaft is failing.

Sound like tire scrubbing and grinding on right front 2004 ford explorer

Get your brakes inspected - the grinding noise may be the front disc brake pads, which have worn out. Several national chains offer free estimates for brake repairs. They will also check the other front end components, which could be causing the noise.
Hope this helps...

Grinding nose left front wheel 2004 f150 ford

If the noise occurs when you press the brake its your disc pads that needs changing. If Its always there all the time when driving, then its your bearing that needs replacing , if it intensify's when turning then its the velocity joints. I'm sure one of those if your problem and i gave the scenarios for each, in any case be sure that one of those needs replacing. If you need more help let me know I'll be happy to help how I can.

Front end rubbing or grinding noise but goes away

It could be a number of things, but a common problem with this car is rusty pins in the front end.  This is louder when turning.  There was a bulletin issued about it.
