Question about 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
I have a 2000 jetta tdi 5 speed manual trans. on my way home tonight i got just over 100 km/h and i seemed to lose power, i got home and changed then went back out for a drive, i got through the first 3 gears alright but the rpm seemed to be a little high when i got to 4th the acceleration slowed down and the same with 5th. i was in 5th at 100km/h and it took over a min to get to 110km/h and wouldent go any faster. any thoughts would be appreciated
Any check engine lights? If not could still be just a Mass Air flow running on minimum and won't make the Check engine come on or something more major like the wastegate valve on the turbo, and or the vacuum or or the vanes in the turbo seizing.
Any odd noises like air flowing could be a disconnected turbo pipe also.
You can try unplugging the mass air flow sensor and try it like that. If it runs better (not perfect) it could be just that. If it does let me know and I'll tell you what to do.
