yeah however i pulled the blower out and manually tested it and it works fine........smooth, quiet and fast.........

does that mean anything or could the blower be drawing too many amps and causing the resistor to damage the resistor??

also not too long ago before this happened the blower would not shut off even with car turned off........i had to unhook battery and a few days later it was ok again........

i think the smell was the resistor burning....im going to test for power at the plug going into motor......i took the motor out because i assumed that was the problem......if there is no power at the plug then i will test the resistor

do you know exactly where the resistor is for 1995 ford explorer or can you find out........and what does it look like......online search seems to have numerous locations for the same vehicle lol

    thank you

I have a 1995 ford explorer eddie bauer edition. I had the same problem so I hard wired the fan to a switch but I still have no heat and the electric burning smell happened once but hasnt happened for a since i hard wired the fan. Now the fan works great but there is no heat. Could this be a heater core problem?

the lines going into the heater core are hot wich indicates to me that it working.

What type of fuse is used for a 2007 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer rear windshield wipers and where is it placed?

Your owners manual will give you fuse location and identification for the rear wiper. Most likely a wiper motor problem though. Turn on rear wiper and grab rear wiper arm and see if it will move at all. If it does move a bit or starts working....the motor is the problem

The electric fan turns on when it's not supposed to do it

You need either a new sensor or possibly a new thermostat, the fan does work so don't go there.

check fuses, check power and ground at blower motor.if the blower has only one speed it will mean a resistor is shot.an easy test if blower is not working at all is to turn blower on hi and tap on the bottom of blower motor with hammer if the blower motor kicks in then you know the motor is the problem.if the motor still does not work, the wiring to the switch and the switch will need to be tested,if the wiring and switch are ok,then replace the blower motor.

1995 ford explorer blower motor

Basically, you have a fan relay that has shorted and burned. The relay is used because of the different power setting needed for the fan speeds.

Trouble shoot all fuses, incase you blew a fuse when the relay went. The relay burned but that did not effect the motor, thats why the motor runs well.

To find the location of the hi speed fan relay, check with your local parts store to see if they can bring it up on a computer.
