the key is more than likely to be with the spare tire jack, usually a cable attaches it to the wheel wrench

Is there a locking mechanism on the tires of a 1994 jeep cherokee?

Pop your hubcaps off (or if you have rims the small one in the center) and if you have a weird lugnut you have a locking mechanism.

Replace all the studs on that wheel and it's twin on the other side. To do this, you have to turn the wheel to where the stud can come out from the inside, and use a hammer (or hammer and punch for the broken ones) to push them out the back of the wheel. You'll have to turn the wheel for each one. To put the new ones in, slide it into the hole that's been vacated, and use a lugnut to pull it in. Flip the lugnut so the the cone shaped end is out (upside down), and tighten it until it pulls the stud all the way on. Take the nut off, turn the hub, and do the next one in the same way. Make sure that you do the other side too, because it's been subjected to similar loads, and is likely ready to fail as well. Mount the tires, drive the car around a little, taking a few curves, but lightly. Stop, and retorque the lugnuts. Take it on another drive, but harder in the curves, and retorque the lugnuts. You are then finished. Just a note: whenever you retorque the lugnuts, loosen first, then tighten. This keeps you from overtightening them.

I do not have key to lugnut and car is in driveway with flat tire

there is a socket designed to remove locking lugnuts available at auto parts stores. it has left handed twists in it that grip the nut so you can turn it off with a breaker bar or ratchet wrench. the socket is tapered and fits over the nut. firmly tapping the socket secures the socket on the nut. you can also try using vise grips if the angle is not too great.

My left back tire of a 1991 Lincoln towncar fell off & i was trying to replace rear lugnuts studs

remove all brake components off of that side, pound out studs towards center of the car with a hammer. place the new studs through the back of the axle and then use washers that just fit over the studs for spacers, and put the lugnut on the stud and tighten until the new stud is seated on the back flange of the axle. remove the lugnut and repeat for the rest of the studs.

Changing a flat on a 1998 chysler cirrus

Get a four way lug wrench that and loosen, but do not remove, all the lugnuts on the wheel that has the flat.Next, jack up the car by lifting it up from the side underneath the doors on the pinchweld. Then remove the lugnuts.Install the spare after removing the flat.Tighten the lugnuts till they are snug on the wheel, then lower the jack .Then torque the lugnuts tight after the car is back on the ground, and you're ready to go down to the tire shop to get the flat fixed.Hope I could help!!!!

How do u replace lugnut bolt on front tire 2000

The lugs are generally pressed into the rotor. They have a fluted shank which prevents them from turning when you torque the lugnuts. If you are going to do this job yourself, they can be driven out with a punch. The new replacement can be drawn into position with the lugnut, but you might need to utilize some spacers and washers to do this.
I've performed this operation before with the rotor still on the vehicle.
I hope this helps... Good luck!

My other half has broken his locking wheel nut key for his escort gti where can iget a replacement

you have to call the manufacturer and give the the number on the lugnut and they will sell you another. about $25. Been there done that. Another option is to buy a socket that you hammer onto the lugnut. It grips the lugnut and you can then use a ratchet to get it off. you do have to replace the lugnuts after doing this. the socket was $8 at Oriellys.
