the best advice i can give you with such little information, is to go to a autoparts store and get a haynes repair manual for you car, about $18 , it will show you step by step instructions.

SOURCE: programming instructions for a 1999 Chrysler 300M remote fob

Manual Programming Procedure (non scan tool)
1. Connect pin 1 of the 16-way data link connector to chassis ground or to pin 4 of the 16-way data link connector.
2. Close all doors, turn ignition key to off.
3. Turn ignition key to Accessory.
4. Turn ignition to off, door locks will cycle once (in programming mode).
5. For each key FOB, press any button 3 times in a row to program code. When programming is complete, the door locks will cycle once.

NOTE:
IF A SECOND KEY FOB REQUIRES PROGRAMMING, IT MUST BE PROGRAMMED WITHIN 1 MINUTE OF PROGRAMMING
THE FIRST FOB PROGRAMMING. PRESS ANY BUTTON ON THE SECOND FOB 3 TIMES TO PROGRAM ITS CODE. WHEN PROGRAMMING IS COMPLETE, THE DOOR LOCKS WILL CYCLE ONCE.

6. The programming mode finishes after the following:
a. Programming of two key FOBS is completed.
b. One minute has passed since programming.
c. Pin 1 of 16-way data link connector is removed from ground connection.
d. Ignition switch is turned on.
e. Any of the doors are opened.

SOURCE: need to replace a idle air control valve on a 1999 300M Chrysler

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the IAC electrical connector.
  3. Remove the IAC mounting screws.
  4. Remove the IAC.

To install:
  1. Install the IAC to the throttle body.
  2. Tighten mounting screws to 5.1 Nm (45 inch lbs.) torque.
  3. Attach electrical connector to the IAC.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  1. Disconnect electrical connector from IAC motor.
  2. Disconnect air plenum (where applicable).
  3. Remove two mounting bolts (screws).
  4. Remove IAC motor from throttle body.

To install:
  1. Install IAC motor to throttle body.
  2. Install and tighten two mounting bolts (screws) to 60 inch lbs. (7 Nm) torque.
  3. Install electrical connector.
  4. Connect air plenum (where applicable).

SOURCE: 2001 Chrysler 300M Engine Light on all the time

Hello, my engine light was on for a VERY LONG time and everytime I got it checked no one could tell me what the problem was because things always checked out fine. The "code" says its a loose gas cap or something, but it wasnt that. My 300M also was having A HARD TIME STARTING UP for about 8 months and leaking coolant for about a month. I finally found a mechanic who knew what he was doing; 1. Leaking Radiator 2. Coolant found in #2 or #3 cylinder. The cause of this was a busted HEAD GASKET. If your 300M has trouble starting and the Engine light stays on have a mechanic check your engine for a busted head gasket and see if all your cylinders are firing correctly. I had to pay $2600 for a new Head Gasket, Radiator and all new hoses plus labor. CRYING!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2001 300M 130K - very well kept. Stuff happens...

code PO1299 = vacuum leak found


check all the vacuum hoses going to the upper intake manafold if all hoses check out ok then replace the idle air control valve.

the onboard computer syatem can not control the idle, it is to idling to high.

P1299 vacuum leak found IAC FULLY SEATED IS THE FIRST CODE THEN P0455 EVAP SYS BIG LEAK


was the fuel fill cap ever left off or fueled while running. this would trigger that. a big leak could possibly be a broken vacuum hose. that would aslo explain the iac code.

My 2001 Chrysler 300m idles very high and will not come down


Either a cracked plenum or bad plenum gasket.

Engine light signal


You can listen for a hissing noise under the hood most of the time and if that doesn't work I usualy use a flamable spray to search for the leak. The engine will change idle when it is hit with the spray. I hope this helps you.
