This car 2004 malibu uses electric power assit steering in which a electric motor is used instead of a pump. so the answer to your question is that there is no fluid to check or add, good day

There is a good reason why you can not find the power steering reservoir. It does not have one.

You vehicle has electronic power steering. There is no hydraulic pump, hoses, or reservoir. The steering column has an electric motor and a control unit mounted to it under the dash.

there is a good reason why you can not find the power steering reservoir. It does not have one.

Power steering helps in one direction only


Steering rack (rack-n-pinion) if the fluid level in the power steering reseviore is full.

Cant find the power steering cap to put power steering fluid in.


On this car the power steering resevior is hidden behind the alternator. Watch out its gonna be hot! You will need a funnel.

if you are referring to power steering, you invariably have ELECTRIC power steering which means there is no fluid at all.

1966 mustang steering problem.


According to the service manual, your turn the steering wheel full left to full right a few times. As it's effectively a circulating system, the air will pump its way back into the resevior.

remove the plastic engine cover on top of the engine you will find the bleck power steering resevior underneath it.

Your friend wouldnt happen to know what he put in? Before it goes to far drain the system and add proper fluid, if it is improper fluid maybe it wont be to late.
