SOURCE: distributor cap and rotor location on chevy silverado

Most chevy 5.3 do not use a cap and rotor. Most have single coil per spark plug and wire. Trace spark plug wires to coil usually above the valve cover.

If you indeed are getting no spark on any plugs, check your plug wire that runs from the rotor to your ignition coil- the one that doesn't go to the engine. Make sure the internal connections didn't pull out and get crushed back in or fall out. Try one of your other plug wires on it and see if it fires- won't run good but you will see difference and be done troubleshooting. Other than that, you bought the rotor button and and rotor as a set right? Make sure the button metal tip is contacting the cap. If you got the wrong one, it may sit too low for the contacts even if it is long enuff. If you were getting spark, I would just say you got the firing order wrong.

Before replacing those parts did your test , trouble shoot ? Was there spark ? Is there B+ voltage to the coil ? Is there fuel pressure ? Part stores love U ! With the distributor cap off crank the engine , does the rotor turn ? Worn out timing belt if it doesn't ! Is there compression ? Pull out spark plugs ,install a compression gauge an crank the engine , does the needle move ?

2003 SDi Volkswagen Polo, hard to start in mornings. Changed air filter, glo plugs, fuel filter and no change. I read the code with the OBD scan tool and I got code PO113 IAT sensor 1 Circuit High inp

Have that sensor checked or replaced. If the computer gets the wrong input signal from the intake air temperature sensor, it may not realize the engine is cold and not delivering enough gas at start-up.

Vw polo will not start in morning , if i leave it for 15/20 mins will start and keep starting all day ,, then same thing next morning HELP

Tommorrow try turning the key on 2 or 3 times and then starting it. If it starts right away then the check valve in the tank is bad or the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail/engine is bad. Both will let the fuel run back in to the tank.
