You may be right. the float (sending unit) may be bad . i would also check the connections to sending unit and pump. this is located at rear top area of the gas tank.

the last thing that i have seen is the baffle inside the tank breaks free and moves around in tank banging into sending unit (float). when you remove the sender and pump form tank stick your hand into hole and make sure baffle does not move. if it does then tank must be replaced.

There is a ground to the frame in the rear area of the tank. i would look at that also. if you follow black wire from connector you will see it go to frame or to be specfic the unibody. i dont think it would be that but just make sure. if it were to be that wire you would have fuel problems but who knows for sure there sometimes two grounds, one for pump and one for sender. good day.

SOURCE: Gas gauge has stopped working on 1998 Buick Park

If it was the sending unit, it is accessible through the trunk floor. A problem I have with my Park Ave gas gauge is when I get a dead battery and try to start the car, the needles will twitch and it sends my gas gauge needle to the far right side. This causes it to rotate/fall under the proper gauge are and come up under the rest pin on the left side. When that happens, I have to pull my whole instrument cluster and rotate it around so the needle goes back up to the top.
Check where you needle is the next time you turn the key to run. If its under the little rest pin at the empty position of the gas gauge, then this should be the fix.

SOURCE: location of fuel float in 2000 buick park avenue

Inside the trunk floor near the back seat on the right, you will need to take an air gun to blow out the dirt and grime before you raise the pump out of the tank, The hatch is held on by some small screws.

Installed fuel pump and sending unit on 94 park avenue now fuel gauge doesn't work it was fine with old unit. Now it reads empty

Buick gas tanks are shaped so when full they take a while before the gauge comes off full. After 1/2 then the gauge will move towards empty quicker. When on an incline it will show more gas than is actually in the tank, so when you're cornering, it's reading will be indicating the moving level. I wouldn't worry about it

2001 buick park ave.what is the cost of the fuel level sensor

If you are sure its the fuel level sensor. You can not just purchase the card. The sensor, float and possibly the fuel pump is sold as a single unit. get in touch with your local parts dealer. They can tell you over the phone. Purchase a mechanics manual for your car, there usually about 20 dollars and you will need it. You will have to drain the gas tank as best you can and drop it out from under the car to get to the ring nut that holds the gas gauge and fuel pump and a gasket on and in the tank. Not an easy job for a novice.

I just replaced the fuel pump in my 2002 buick rendezvous. Now, the car starts, but the fuel gauge doesn't work. When I turn the car on, the needle goes to full and stays there, then low fuel alarm...

Oh my, there is no reset. You would need to remove the pump module and check the gauge sender part, maybe the float arm got jostled or bent when installing.
Sorry to tell you this, it will have to be redone. This time when you pull the unit out of the tank, take a moment to connect the battery, connect the electrical connector to the pump module, turn the key to on, then check that raising and lowering the float arm makes the gauge read right.
It's either this way, or let it be and figure your gas left in tank by number of miles driven.

My gas gauge is passed the full line about two inches, and stays there how can i fix this and how did this happen???

Possibly your sending unit is bad in the tank or the wires to your fuel pump has a short. It also could be the gauge itself. First check wiring under the car going to the fuel tank before you do anything else because This is a common problem I have seen before.

When im driving my 1999 Buick Century the gas gauge doesnt read right, it moves all the time and i never know how much gas i have. what could cause this?

I have a 1989 Park Avenue with the same problem. It's most likely a problem with the float in the fuel tank. Check and clean the wiring and connectors coming from the sending unit in the gas tank. If that doesn't help then you will need have the float and sending unit removed from the tank and replaced.

1999 buick when fuel gauge drops below 3/4 it is is not accurate

i dont know the specifics of a Regal, but usually, when a needle fluctuates too much, is because the float gauge in the gas tank is worn out, or its mount became loose. You cant see that effect on a full tank because the instrument needle and the float are pegged against the stop.

Fuel level indicator stayed stuck one day and then seem to shack itself correct. mechanic wants to change the "fuel level sender". could it be any other issues that I can check myself? Vaccum hose? float?

No there isn't, the fuel level sender sends the signal to the gauge on the dash to show how much gas is in the tank.Sorry, but the gas tank needs to dropped to replace it.
