Headlite replacement

Step 1 Shut the Corolla's engine off and engage the emergency brake for added safety. Also, make sure its headlights are switched off.
  • Step 2 Open the hood using the primary and auxiliary hood release latches.
  • Step 3 Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the clip from the top of the air cleaner duct and pull the duct out of the engine2_bing.gif compartment (only when changing the passenger-side headlight.)
  • Step 4 Turn the headlight bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
  • Step 5 Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the bulb. Carefully dispose of the bulb to prevent it from shattering or cracking.
  • Step 6 Attach the electrical connector to the new bulb and insert it into the headlight assembly. Twist it clockwise to secure its position.
  • Step 7 Test the new headlight to make sure it works before replacing the air cleaner duct (if applicable) and closing the hood.,I hope this helps you and merry xmas

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla that was running just great until one night the lights wouldn't shut off, not even when the engine was turned off. What's wrong and how do I fix?

Sounds like you have a relay stuck in the closed position. This is the relay that controlls the auto on/off head lights. When you turn the car off with the headlights on the relay is triggered as soon as you open your door, then the headlights turn off to keep you from running your battery down. I would suspect this is the problem. Replace the relay once tested bad.

92 toyota corolla dx lights wont shut off

Headlights are wired to receive a constant "hot" even when your keys are out of the ignition. Your problem, more than likely, is in the switch. Depending on what type of switch you have, you can expect to pay between $20-$80 for a new one.
