Security light blinking and car will not try and crank

The security picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

2003 f150 turns over but wont crank, also theft light blinking fast

Usually means the sensor in the lock cylinder is not reading the code in the key.
If the pass key system does not get the right signal from the key the truck will not start.
You might try taking the key off your ring - put it in the lock and turn the switch on - but don't crank it for at least a minute.
There are procedures to reset the anti-theft online - - if you do a search for resetting anti-theft F150 you can read them.

How to reset or override anti theft in 96 grand am

Unfortunately this has been a real problem on GM vehicles for a very long time. I copied this to help you understad how this works.

These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, these parts are sending signals to each other. 07 ford focus anti theft light flashes all the time

If the security or anti-theft light is flashing when you attempt to start your car, and the engine does not crank or does not start, you have an anti-theft problem. The system may not be recognizing your key's key-less entry signal, or there may be a fault in the anti-theft module or wiring.
There is a reset procedure to stop this anti-theft light flashing.many a times this helps The reset procedure is as follows:-- Reset the alarm by locking and unlocking the drivers side door.Do this a couple of times and then check it will reset the factory security system . If the reset procedure does not helps then its time to get the anti-theft system checked. There is a short circuit in the anti-theft system wiring.
