I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The problem is the Transaxle Control Module and the van will not shift to reverse or drive. I am trying to find out a price so that this problem can be fixed. Can someone give me a quote on this part so I can fix it?

Mine won't shift gears either. It's a 1998, starts fine, and I checked to see that the transmission fluid level was good. It doesn't matter how long I let it warm up - the rpm needle just goes wild up and down when I accelerate, but I go nowhere, in either forward or reverse.

Actually I just had this occur on my 97' and all I had to do was fill the Oil reserve. It started with not going into D or R unless I racked up the RPM's and then it would catch. Next it stopped shifting out of 1sr gear,,,no matter how high the RPM's got too. Took it in and just turned out it was low on oil and what was there was too broken down.

I have a 95 sidekick , nobody can get the computer to communcatie

this is normal
the TCM (tranny brain) tells the Transmission to do all shifting
the TCM has input sensors that let the TCM know when to command shifts.
nobody can? get the what to communicate?
please post the symptoms, and btw, this old car does not work
with modern scan tools at all...
TCM= transmission control module
ECM = engine control module or unit.

Tranny shifting hard in and out of gears

This transmission is electronicly shifted by the computer (transmission control module) First thing i'd recomend is changing the trans. fluid & filter ( depending on what engine you have the trans may not have a serviceable filter ) Change the fluid and add 1 bottle of LUCAS trans.treatment = 1 QT.

I have a 2007 lexus 350 and the transmission jumps every morning.Almost as if it shifts to a lower gear. I have 75k miles. My husband says its sliping.

RX350's are are known for blowing trannys.(I work in a Toyota dealer) Id try a nice tranny fluid flush to try and save it with nice new clean fresh fluid. Also check for stored codes in ECU or tranny controle module to make sure it isnt just a bad shift solonoid in the valve body. If the flush dosnt work and it still does it id look into bringing it to a tranny shop and see if it can be rebuilt or it may need to be replaced with a new or used one.... I have seen alot of tranny jobs been done on those vehicles before.

Goes into neutral and then shifts hard into 1st on slowdown

It sounds like your input clutch seals are rolling. Is the check engine light on. It could also be the pressure control solenoid could be causing the problem aswell

Check the speed sensor on the tranny cause if the speedometer is not working the tranny will not shift. The computer will not recognize that the transmission is in motion so will not shift.

Tranny shifts hard and bubbles in tranny fluid 1998 cherokee

Either the unit is overfull or the filter is falling off the valve body. Both will cause foaming of fluid.
