Question about 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Engine was just replaced about 2000 miles ago. The car drives great, even with the light on. The first time it happened I brought it right back home and let the engine run while I removed the positive battery cable to see if the engine would die, but she kept running just fine.
There would have been enough induced voltage flying back through the electrical system to keep the motor running. This is not always a good test.A little bit more explanation would be helpful.Does that check gauge remain on or off while driving normally? When it goes off or on does it do it spasmodically or does it do it until you restart the engine?Regards

Crankshaft Position Sensor most likely, that's what it was with me. It is a pain to change so good luck. If that does not work you may look into: Camshaft Sensor, Fuel Pump/Filter, Injectors

Check VSS Vehicule Speed Sensor wire may be corroted, bad connection or faulty; if 2wd the adaptor is located on the extension housing of the transmission (left side)
if 4wd look on transfer case extension (left side)
