Reverse lights on my 1987 Nissan Pathfinder V6 have never worked

I would check the switch on the transmission which controls that circuit. It is called the backup light switch, or the neutral safety switch if it is an automatic.

My nissan pathfinder ran out of gas now it wont start

Try looking for the fuel pump reset switch, which may be towards the back of the vehicle hidden behind a panel.

1987 Ecoline van V-8 engine hasn't been started in about 7 years. It ran good before that. What do I have to do first to start it and get it running?

I would change all the fluids and either try dry gas or i would recommend that the gas tank be thoroughly drained and new gas put in the tank.If you have a hard time getting started try to use starter fluid in carburetor or if you have none just use gas. If the vehicle is equipped with fuel injectors locate air filter and follow air duct to engine that is where starter fluid or gasoline will have to be pored to prime the injectors.if it don't start the engine should be tuned up with a major tune up replace all filters ect even if it starts without tune up i would tune it up asap!

94 pathfinder v6 auto 4x4 .engine died nuw wont start ,turns over and tries to fire, maybe the timing belt broke?if so would the valve train be damaged Thanks Barry

This vehicle has an interference engine (v6-VG30E), If the timing belt ran or snapped while running, its very possible the engine is severely damaged. Hopefully this helps!!

I have a 1987 nissan pathfinder i cant get the front belt off the put the back one on how do i do this?

You have to get at the tensioner from underneath the vehicle. It's hard to get at. What I did was go and buy that belt too, cut the old one off and used a screwdriver to install the new one while turning the engine by hand.

1987 nissan pathfinder wont crank or anything

FIRST TRY TO SEE IF THE FUSE AND RELAY ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IF THEY CHECK OUT THEN CHECK FOR SPARK AT EACH ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS. IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK THEN I WOULD REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. THIS DEVICE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPENING INJECTORS AND SPARK PULSE THROUGH THE COMPUTER. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BEST OF LUCK

No power past the battery

Jump start it with + cable on battery - cable hooked to "lift hook" on pass-side of motor. also make sure its in PARK (or Neutral) make sure the "fuse links" (the pink wires from + battery terminal to wiring harness) arent broken or mangled.. if that still doesnt do it, on Pass-Side fender in a little back box (2in wide, 6in long, 6in deep) is a relay (beleve one closest to firewall) called "MAIN RELAY" Common failure on older pathfinders, it just gets old and worn out, replace it, through dealership its EXPENSIVE, through Junk-Yard it may be defective.. I've replaced mine with a cheaper style relay (had to cut/solder wires) ... Discussion Boards on www.4x4parts.com have LOTS of great info on this kind of repair.

I had this problem and replaced the ground cable.
easy to check with jumper cables connect one to your neg battery post, and the other to your engine block. if it starts normal replace the cable.
