Could you send me a diagram of how to hook up the two six volt house batteries.

Hi if you want to join two batteries to make 12v place the batteries side to side and. Connect the negative from one battery to the plus of the other. Then connect the batteries in the vehicle as normal plus to plus minus to minus. If the vehicle is 6v then connect plus to plus and minus to minus this will give you 6volts and double the amps. Hope this helps. Regards Jim...

Depending on the vehicle, the voltage regulator for the alternator is usually the problem if the voltage is too high.

In Europe the European Parliament have forced vehicle manufacturers to provide repair information to basically anyone who has need of it, principally independent and fleet repairers. They ruled it unfair the vehicle warranty depended on in-house service and repairs.

The vehicle manufacturers instructed their dealers to be unhelpful and then set up pay-per-view websites to provide the required information.
You might have some luck there.

Autodata and similar are likely to have partial wiring diagrams and also the Haynes repair manual.

How do I replace a generator with an alternator?

here is a short video, where the guy replaced a 6v generator with a 12v alternator, if you click on more under video there are instructions listed.
if you are going from 12v to 12v it will be easier.
if you are going from 6v to 12v there are other modifications that need to be done, so as not to fry to light bulbs, ect...

also keep in mind that some of your older cars have a positive ground ( I've run into this on some of the fords), if this is the case , the vehicle will have to be converted to negative ground.

1990 Dodge Ramcharger won't start. Battery output 12v, voltage across coil terminals 6v, voltage output at coil port to coil wire 6v, voltage of coil wire output to distributor 6v. Engine will c

There should be a small white ceramic block on the firewall - this component cuts the battery voltage from 12 to 9 volts for the coil and ignition system. It has 4 wires and is called a ballast resistor.
You may need a book with the wiring diagram to be able to test it. You should have battery voltage going in and something like 9 volts coming out.
You can also run a wire with a fuse from the battery to the positive side of the coil to check the system. Disconnect the factory wire from the coil first.

Could it jump start a 6 volt battery car?

It is not a good idea to connect 12v to a 6v system. It can short out the ignition system, generator, and any electronics that are energized. It is best to use a 6v charger.

1996 seville rear air ride too high

The ride level system uses an air compressor and either an air type of shocks or a type of air billow to raise and lower the vehicle, there is an adjustment to set the ride height and it is located under the vehicle and there is a control lever or rod that should be connected between the rear axle and a switch that is mounted on the body of the vehicle, and there will be an adjustment slot in the control lever between the switch and the body, and that is how you would adjust the ride level height, but be sure that the vehicle can not drop any further down if someone is under the vehicle trying to adjust the ride height.

However, you might find that the control lever to the ride level has fallen off from the switch on the body or it has come loose from the rear axle, and it is just hanging there not operating the switch on the body that controls the the ride level compressor.

Lift sensor for rear of 1988 Deville

To begin with, check the "ride level" fuse and make sure that the ride level compressor does work, and you should be able to hear that the ride level compressor is working when the ride level system is leveling the vehicle.

However, you might find that the control lever to the ride level has fallen off from the switch on the body or it has come loose from the rear axle, and it is just hanging there not operating the switch on the body that controls the the ride level compressor, or there might be a blown out air shock or billow, or you might find that an air line from the compressor is leaking and the ride level compressor will just run continuously until it blows out the fuse, and if that is the case you might also find out that the air compressor has burned out from running continuously.

I hope that this information will help you to solve your ride level problem.
