Look at the exhaust. The Cat. Converter for sure. They tend to rattle.

Check under the hood and try to ID the noise, check anything that moves, water pump, power steering pump, AC compressor and so on, a broom stick held against the suspect noise area helps to pin point the problem.

Hi,
I'd check your tires for balance, if they are out of balance, they may be vibrating enough to cause something in your suspension to make that noise.
Wheel balance is common arou 60-65 MPH on all vehicles.

2004 jeep cherokee overland when shifting from park to drive loud noise and idle is running rough

find noise location first. never ignore noise on machines. and 10x that on man movers. 100x that in the air.

then scan it. using any obd2 scan tool,
a tool that does Jeep factory codes. 10x that.

2003 grand cherokee ! WJ body. jeep.
why not take it to a real shop and ask them to find the true cause.
in our shop we have an electronic stethoscope ( a $50 tool) t
that finds causes, easy.
and for sure LOCATION. (if R/F then it is., so look only there)
bad wheel bearings, bad rotors. bad brakes, caliper guides seized.
loose hub nuts.
bad shock. or falling off>?
cracked wheel. damaged suspension parts, loose ball joints.
a good mech, can flex these parts, parked.
and find what is loose? find one, or go to a suspension shop
or a pro brake shop.
NOISE, only moving?
only bouncing?
only under power ?
only coasting?
in any gear. ?
only turning.?
what?? hopeless for me to guess, id be hands all over car.
see why posting here is useless, reason, we cant drive it and hear it.!!! there are 3000 parts on the car, any can make noise.

see suspension here.

2004 jeep grand cherokee new starter very loud

Only thought is, when you tighten the bolts ,go a little on
one ,then the other, like 3 times, don't tighten one all the way
first. Makes the housing warp.

On my Saturn 2003 Ion, the starter makes an extremely loud noise upon turning key in the ignition. The problem is recent and literally sounds like something is going to disengage or break. Otherwise, car...

if noise is only when starting, consider replacing the starter. the mounting bolts could have some loose, or the clutch which disengages the starter gear is not retracting the gear. either situation could cause a loud noise of the starter gear clattering with the ring gear.

When the belt is on my 85 mustang it makes a loud hi pitch noise. when u take the belt off it stops. i replaced the tensi, belt, alter, and water pump with new ones and it stopped. for about 10 miles and it...

The ac not being on does not mean it is not the cuase of the noise. The bearing may be going bad on the ac. You may want to take a look at the idoler pulley as well. They are the same as the tensioner aside from the fact it is hard mounted. Try spraying a lubricant on the idoler and if that does not help spray the ac at the cak of the pulley. Which ever ones helps will let you know which is the cause.

High pitched metallic sound at gear change (automatic Honda)

It's very likely to be something as simple as a loose and corroded exhaust heat shield, or something similar which is resonating as you change up on a cold engine. Once the car warms up, metal expands and will take up any loose gaps which may be allowing the noise to occur. I've had the same symptoms and cause on other cars in the past.

Take your car to an exhaust specialist where they usually will inspect your exhaust for free in the hope of finding a chargeable repair.

An internal gearbox fault would be more muffled than the noise you describe.
