SOURCE: Just replaced intake manifold gasket on 2000 Chevy

hi, its sounds to me like the gasket could have been faulty unless a wire has come off or not fitted properly,

Check for loose wires or connectors with no wires going to them and fit these wires back on check the fuel line has not split, check the bolts are tightened properly.

Try turning it over a few times in case its a fuel pressure problem if after doing this its still dont start then you need to take the manifold off and check the gasket is fitted properly as it may have slipped and not be sealing properly, once you have done this refit and tighten then let me know what happens ok.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

My 2005 equinox every once in a while has trouble starting. It will spudder a little and when it does this it'll take a couple attempts at starting it. Will always start just afraid it may be something...

This is normal (for a cheaply made Chinese engine). Try pressing the accelerator to the floor once or twice, let off and then start the engine. Be more concerned about the Lower Intake Manifold and Head Gaskets. My 2005 Equinox just blew one or the other yesterday at 109,000 well maintained and always babied miles. The estimate to replace the head gaskets was "about $2000.00." Good luck!

2005 Chevy Equinox leaking oil out of exhaust manifold 107,000 miles. Just had head gasket replaced and heads rebuilt in which one was cracked. Mechanic puzzled by this because there is no smoke or odor...

Take it back and have the heads redone. Sounds like they left oil seals out or they didn't find a crack in the other head. It is very unusuall for oil to come from the exhaust and not smoke. And if the oil is coming from the exhaust gasket ,then the mechanic also didn't do his job right. This gasket should be tight, no air or anyhting else should be coming from between the engine and exhaust manifold. The never timed it is impossible, as it has to be timed to run. I would probably take it to anoher shop, explain what has gone on, get an estimate to fix it. And demand the other shop pay for it.

Need to flush cooling system of a 2005 chevy equinox and change the thermostat

You can buy a flush kit from your local auto supply store to add to your cooling system for this and future flushing. As for changing your thermostat - simply remove the thermostat housing - remove the old thermostat - replace with new (be sure it is the one rated for the season at hand) - replace gaskets (or use RTV gasket maker) and reinstall housing. Fill the system with proper % ratio of coolant to water (usually 50/50). Drive away happy.:) PS You can find your thermostat housing by following the top rad hose from the rad back to it at the intake manifold.

How do you replace the pvc valve in a 2005 chevy equinox?

On your Equinox you will need to remove the engine plastic cover that says Chevrolet 3.4L. You do this by disconnecting the electrical wire from the oil pump located on you left side and unscrew the entire oil fill spout. Then just remove the cover. On the bottom right on the valve cover you will see a metal bracket with a small hose coming out and going up to the intake manifold. Remove the hose and you will find the PCV Valve.

White smoke coming out of tail pipe, iddles.

usually a sign of a blown head gasket or intake gasket or, gulp a cracked head or block. Check your engine oil for a milky color, This would confirm a blown head gasket. There is a test to determine if hydrocarbons are in your coolant. If your coolant level is low or empty, this is another sign.

My friend works at a ford dealership and i took my 2000 gmc truck in because i had antifreeze on the intake manifold he said the type of antifreeze that was used in that time period would eat away the...

if in 10 years of driving ur truck this is the only problem u had with ur truck thats great as to antifreeze they all start to break down with age, good maintainance would be to flush and change antifreeze every 5 years it does pick up rust and oxidation , their caustic to certain metals, chevy had a problem in 2005 equinox with their dexcool (red)antifreeze eating away the in sides of the rubber hoses causing a smell(the hoses were a different compound than normally used )if ur gasket went it was probably due to age wear and tear driving conditions environment etc if what ur your friend was saying is right its so caustic that it took 10 years to eat thru a gasket at ur intake manifold and not the water pump gasket or heater core unit
