1996 Dodge Caravan, replacing Oxygen Sensors

My email: Tori131426@gmail.com
I have a 96 Dodge Caravan and trying to replace the two O2 sensors - one located at a hard to reach location in the frontal part of the van. And it's a real pain in the **** to loosen.
What's the best thing to do to get it out?

thanks for the reply, it appears that we just used some WD-44 on it, warmed it up some, and after we took some parts out to reach the 2nd O2 Sensor, we got it done :)

Thanks for all your help FixYa :)

2006 Dodge Caravan Getting Two codes: Po135 and Po141

Sadly people don't know that trouble codes only tell the mechanic what to test, not what to replace. And auto parts stores are in the business of selling parts, not giving advice.
Code 135 means there is a problem with the heater inside the o2 sensor for bank one in front of the catalytic converter. Code 141 means the same thing for the o2 sensor after the cat.
Since it is very rare to have two O2 sensors fail at the same time, chances are the problem is lack of power going to the sensors.
The power circuits would need to be checked which requires a shop manual to get the testing procedures and wiring diagrams.

There is some sort of diagnostic code stored in either the ECM(engine computer) or TCM(transmission computer). There are many sensors and solenoids and other data parameters that can cause a codes to set other than just the oxygen sensors. You will need to have the code(s) pulled to know where to start.

Need to know where O2 sensor is located on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.

There are two oxygen sensors: one is upstream of the catalytic converter and one downstream of the catalytic converter. The oxygen sensor, or O2 sensor is usually located near the catalytic converter.Oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter in the exhaust system on the back of the engine. ------- Thanks.Helpmech

Look at the headers (exhaust right off of the engine) for your O2 sensors (there are 2).

P2097 Error code in 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, which O2 Sensor?

actually there are 4 sensors. one on each exhaust manifold and then as you said one prior and aft the catalytic convertor. this is saying it is reading too rich a reading. check the condition of your spark plugs. you need to pin point the reason. chances are it is not the o2 sensor. happy holidays

Oxygen sensors have to be replaced. U can clean a sensor yes with electronic spray and applying a bit of di-electric grease. But y do u want to replace it though? It is usually located on the exhaust circuitry
