SOURCE: 2000 VW beetle fan belt replacment

you need a 15mm wrench use the open end of the wrench and put it on the nipple on the top of the tensioner pulley assembly then push it back it will release the tension enough to slip it off the altenator

SOURCE: Hi there,

Do you mean the serpentine belt? The timing belt is typically found on the inside of t he engine. There is usually a diagram under the hood itself in the area of the serpentine belt that shows its proper routing. Be sure that you route it around the belt tensioner. This is what create the proper tension on the belt.

Vw caddy power steering not working

Check the drive belt to the power steering pump. If it is ok, it could be servo pump not supplying enough oil, all of this is mechanical. May also have something to servo compensator, but I unfortunately can not give any advice. Good luck
